What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are a two person game making team. We are choosing to launch RC Rush in Early Access because this is such a complicated project for us to undertake that we need the help of the community to know if we're hitting the right marks with it - our focus has been 100% on building a cool racing game, but now we need to see what other people think and how we can try to make it even better.

We play the game differently to you, we view it differently and we all like different things. By opening up the forum to the community to hear other voices, we hope to give everyone a fantastic RC arcade racing game with balanced A.I. and to deliver on many of the things people like most about this kind of experience.

The game was developed initially as a VR game, but has non-VR support. The non-VR may grow and evolve just as much as the VR version along the way, so getting feedback on both versions is going to be super helpful for keeping things on track.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate the game being in Early Access for around 6 months to a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Aside from being much more polished than it is right now, we have plans for some new tracks, more vehicles to unlock, and additional game modes.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The career mode is totally functional, but the exact order and number of career events could change throughout Early Access. Quick play racing is in (where you can pick any unlocked track and car and play for fun) and there's free roam, too. A driving school level comes first in career, and is intended to introduce players to driving the RC cars. At this stage, it's very basic and lacks proper instructions. Online multiplayer is working, but it is at an early stage - right now, you can free roam or race with up to 6 friends.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will most likely raise at the end of early access, as we add new content and features to the game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're interested in all feedback from the community - you can send this to us via email or tell us about it on the Steam forums.

One of the most important things we want to do is balance the game in a way that will please as many people as possible, so we are very interested in how you find the difficulty level of the game. There are three difficulty modes and driving aids, but we need to make sure that the easy modes are easy enough and the hard mode is tough enough - but not impossible. The AI opponents are going to play a huge part in this. Feedback from the community will be vital in finding the right balance. On top of all that, we want to know which tracks are the most popular so we can figure out what types of content people want to see in the future. Want to see some more crawler levels? Mini games? Tell us about it!

What do you think of the interface? Can you read everything OK? Does it look good, or does it detract from the themes of the game? Let us know!

For players with VR headsets, we want to know how it feels to be standing in each world and what we can do to make it feel even more immersive. As we support both VR and non-VR modes, it will be a massive help to have feedback and testing on both modes. We want to hear what you think!”

About This Game

RC Rush is an exciting arcade racing game featuring radio controlled trucks. Win races to unlock career events, compete in head to head battles to unlock new vehicles, and level up your way to becoming the ultimate RC champion!

Key Features
  • Race on over 30 different tracks - You'll visit the scrapyards, playgrounds, a volcano and more! You’ll compete in places you wouldn’t normally be allowed to race RC vehicles, like the inside of an Egyptian tomb!
  • Free roam - Explore the levels outside of races, including two bonus crawler-style levels designed for exploration.
  • Career mode - 100 race, elimination and time trial events currently make up career mode.
  • Realistic, but not *too* realistic - Cutting edge physics make the RC vehicles feel realistic, but gives them arcade-style handling with the focus on fun!
  • VR or not - Play in VR from a standing (static) viewpoint for the full immersive RC Rush experience, or play on a regular screen on one of 3 different viewpoints (standing, behind the truck or top-down cameras).

RC Rush is an amazing racing experience you can play in VR or on your PC monitor. To drive, you can use a gamepad, keyboard or VR controllers. There are several options to allow you to play the game how you want - choose the A.I. driver difficulty level and apply helpers to the steering or braking, if you like. The goal here is RC FUN for EVERYONE!
