What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“EverWorld has several core features - procedurally generated tiny worlds, deep life-sim style AI, freeform text interaction with NPCs, harvesting and crafting - and we could 'turn the volume up' on any of them. We see the best way to guide EverWorld as a product is through direct feedback from the community, and understand what direction our players want the game to go in.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At least 12-24 months depending on the scale of the feedback from our players, potentially longer if the features that players most want to see require a longer development cycle.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Our roadmap includes extensions to existing features (deeper AI capability, more diverse world gen, a deeper wildlife ecosystem, more variety in granular content) and we have question marks about whether other features might be valuable to players as well (voice synthesis, historical simulation, economy, larger world scale). If players want it, we want to add more depth to NPC simulations, more activities for NPCs to do, full land and structure building / interaction and much more - and we want all these features to integrate.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Many of the core features envisioned for the game are present and functional to some degree (player-NPC relationship simulation, unique procedural dialogue, basic NPC jobs, AI sense-decide-act simulation, procedurally generated worlds, sandbox world, base harvesting and crafting etc), as is the basic core game cycle (fulfilling quests, earning star points, building NPC relationships, and so on). EverWorld currently contains a single biome type (grasslands), a base level of self-sufficient AI, and a huge amount of diversity in the procedurally generated NPCs.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will most likely increase slightly as new content and features are incorporated into EverWorld and it moves out of Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Steam forums - players are welcome to suggest ideas and refinements, and we have a small group of alpha release test users who form a first line of feedback mechanism.”

About This Game

EverWorld is a procedurally generated life sim with deeply simulated artificial intelligence.

- Randomised world - deeply detailed and uniquely generated for you

- NPCs with personality - NPCs that have goals, personality, opinions and memory - they make decisions and talk to each other about real things in the world

- Everything is a thing - if you can see it, it's real and you can interact with it

- Deep simulation - the world progresses whether the player engages or not

- Life simulation - NPCs actually go to work, actually do jobs and fulfil their own day to day wants and needs

- Free text dialogue - say anything to NPCs (current contextual understanding is limited but growing every update - they might not understand everything but they'll try!)

- Dynamic quests - Daily quests plus NPCs will raise their own quest based on real wants and needs

- Dynamic crafting - Discover recipes and use any material with the right properties to craft items

- No loading screens - Building interiors are no different from the world outside
