What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to expand the number of people playing the game so that we can get more feedback on the mechanics and balance before adding features that are dependent on those being stable.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The game mechanics will evolve and improve as we get feedback from a wider audience. Quality of life changes and UI improvements will be implemented as they are brought to our attention to make the game easy to understand and play.

Once the evolution of game mechanics has slowed, we plan to add features that support the main gameplay and make it accessible to more players. Some examples of these type of features currently under discussion include:

  • Interactive tutorial Complete.
  • AI for single-player gameplay
  • Asynchronous gameplay
  • Matchmaking tools
  • Spectator mode
  • Player rankings / competitive play

We'll prioritize features that allow for a wider audience of people to learn the game and be able to enjoy it.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently fully playable between two players online or locally. There is a basic tutorial that explains the game rules and UI and menu options needed to support that gameplay.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We don't plan to change the price after leaving early access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We need all the feedback we can get. We've played the game together a lot and with friends and now it's time to leverage the ideas and opinions of a larger audience. We depend on honest feedback and new perspectives from the community and we're looking forward to bringing that input into the game.

We will be active and open in communicating our thoughts, reasoning, and goals back to the community so you will know what to expect and how you can be involved in development.”

About This Game

Oversight blends turn-based strategy with gripping espionage gameplay. Compete against another player to create a network of agents to pass along assets to designated sectors. But beware: agents are only loyal to the highest bidder. Ensure your defenses by keeping agents loyal and paid. Infiltrate the opponent by bribing their agents to report their actions — and have them disrupt those actions at opportune moments. Expose enemy efforts to compromise your network through surveillance and well placed traps. Vary your tactics to control the board while completing your objectives.

Be careful who you trust and may the best spymaster win.

Features:

  • Head-to-head PVP
  • Simultaneous turns during online play
  • Gameplay based around hidden information

  • Create a spy network by recruiting agents and establish connections between the director and sector contacts.

  • Compete against the enemy network to secure all the assets for the round to its assigned sector.

  • Bribe the opponent’s agents to shift their loyalty in your favor.
  • Loyal agents report to you, revealing your opponent’s activities.

  • Activate your double agents and sabotage enemy orders they’ve been entrusted to carry out.
  • Render enemy efforts useless, wasting their turn and limited resources.

  • Strengthen the loyalty of agents to prevent them from being exploited.
  • Investigate agents to reveal any enemy influence.
  • Send traps down the network that will reveal enemy infiltrators if tampered with.
