What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game world we have in mind is rich and intricate, and the very nature of the project involves adding content to make the experience more complete. During the EA phase we would like to gather feedback from the community to further improve City 20 and make it an even more satisfying gaming experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan for Early Access to last at least 12 months, depending on the feedback we receive.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In addition to fixes and improvements in balance and core gameplay, we plan to work on new game mechanics and items. We also plan to work on expanding the lore and possibly introduce co-op multiplayer.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a playable sandbox featuring a map composed of several biomes and inhabited by 2 factions. The main key gameplay features (survival, crafting, relationships system, ecosystem simulator, game AI system) are done.
Our ongoing efforts with the game include finding and fixing bugs, as well as fine tuning the experience to ensure it is balanced.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will increase when Early Access ends. We might also have some minor gradual increases during Early Access, but only if new major features are released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community's suggestions will be carefully analyzed to shape and enrich our game. These can be left on our discussion boards on Steam and on the dedicated channel on our own Discord Server.

The schedule for updates that we plan to work on will be announced through Devlogs and Community Updates.”

About This Game

City 20. A secret nuclear city, quarantined after a radioactive leak and left to starve, a post-apocalyptic sandbox survival game where every choice shapes the world around you.

In this open-world survival experience, every decision is remembered. Factions guard their own agendas, people seek advantage, and the environment itself is a constant threat.

How far will you go to survive?

The world evolves whether you act or not. NPCs follow daily routines, adapt to a dynamic environment, and remember how you treat them.

You can help, trade, steal, or attack, but every action shapes your reputation with individuals and factions alike.

Work with or against organized factions in this living open world simulation.

Earn trust to access shops, resources, and safe areas, or betray them and be hunted down, exiled, and shut out of their territory.

Every NPC has a life of their own: they work, rest, eat, and adapt to the living city. A hungry guard might trade intel for food; an insulted citizen might refuse to speak to you for days.

Help them, exploit them, or ignore them, and watch the city react.

Find food, craft survival tools, restore power, and endure hazards. Grow crops to cook hearty recipes, hunt and trap wildlife, or scavenge rare materials to trade with NPCs.

With no scripted path, each playthrough is unique as factions rise and fall, NPCs live or die, and alliances shift in unexpected ways.
