What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The game world we have in mind is rich and intricate, and the very nature of the project involves adding content to make the experience more complete. During the EA phase we would like to gather feedback from the community to further improve City 20 and make it an even more satisfying gaming experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We’ve been in Early Access for a year and a half now, adding a ton of new content and features along the way. We will continue to expand the game, and we estimate it will take approximately one more year of active development to fully realize our vision and reach version 1.0.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In addition to fixes and improvements in balance and core gameplay, we are constantly working on new game mechanics and systems. We are also expanding the lore, adding more narrative to the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access currently consists of a playable sandbox, with a map that includes various biomes and two factions. The core mechanics such as survival, crafting, ecosystem, and NPC behavior system are already structured and integrated into the game. Our current focus is adding new content on top of this framework and refining the overall experience by listening to our players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will increase when Early Access ends. We might also have some minor gradual increases during Early Access, but only if new major features are released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community's suggestions are carefully analyzed to shape and enrich our game. These can be left on our discussion boards on Steam and on the dedicated channel on our own Discord Server.
We also periodically run closed playtesting sessions with members of the community to gather early feedback on the features we are working on.

We regularly share what we are working on through Devlogs and Community Updates.”

Roadmap

The Bunker Update has paved the way for countless new possibilities in our development roadmap. While we are incredibly proud of this milestone, the game is still far from complete. Our team is fully dedicated to adding a massive amount of new content, including expanded mechanics, more NPCs, new items, and deeper storylines. Please take a look at our early roadmap below for a glimpse into the future, and look out for the full detailed version arriving on April 16.

About This Game

A city left to die

City 20 was a closed city, a place that didn't exist on any map. Behind its walls, scientists pushed the boundaries of nuclear physics and quantum mechanics. Then, something went wrong.
Sealed within their own nightmare and in a world now devoid of rules, the survivors gave rise to a new, brutal ecosystem divided into factions.
You find yourself in this ruthless reality alone and empty-handed. How far will you go to survive?

Survive, scavenge, craft

Obtain food by farming, hunting, or interacting with NPCs.
Scavenge for materials and salvageable components. Disassemble objects to recover parts to craft equipment.
Purchase properties and furnish them with appliances and workbenches to produce advanced items.
Restore the electrical grid to bring power back to abandoned buildings and unlock new areas. Endure lethal nuclear radiation as you try to carve out your place in the city.

A living world that doesn’t wait for you

All NPCs follow dynamic routines. They work, eat, rest, and react to a changing world.
Every interaction you have with them carries weight, influencing your relationships and unlocking new possibilities.
Learn about the factions, their organization, and their identity. Each pursues long-term goals that you can alter with your decisions.
Earn their trust to unlock restricted areas, crafting stations, and supplies, or defy them and face the consequences.
No path is already written. Your actions shape the future of those around you, deciding who thrives and who falls.

Something stirs in City 20

Not everything in City 20 can be explained by science. Strange creatures roam the city's ruined buildings - a phenomenon never seen before - and no one knows where they came from.
You can fight them, but understanding what they are and why they appeared might be the real challenge.
