为何要采用抢先体验这种模式?

“TMM is our very first "public" project. We are still understanding the complexity of the industry as a whole. Although the game is ready to be played, we have an extensive backlog of features and content that are yet to be developed, and it is our understanding that the best way to do so would be with community feedback as one of the main drives.”

“Based on our backlog, at most a year. However, we expect to spend less time than that on EA, as one of our goals is to use community feedback to cull unnecessary efforts.”

计划中的完整版本和抢先体验版本到底有多少不同?

“We wish to provide far more horizontal content than the first EA version would. That means more maps/levels, more character models and more variations on the existing game mechanics.
We also wish to iron out the issues we understand are the 'main offenders' in our project - atmospheric visuals and general UX. This includes, among other things, 3D art/animation efforts and audio engineering/voice acting efforts.
At last, we plan on implementing features entirely absent from the EA version, such as character customization and procedural level modifiers.”

抢先体验版本的现状如何?

“We believe we have an entertaining - albeit limited in content - game. The entire gameplay loop executes well, there are no game-breaking bugs that our QA and playtests could detect (as we have a 'bugs are top-priority' internal policy) and the social/PvP aspect of the game guarantees a satisfying amount of replayability.
It is our understanding that for our planned price tag and for the nature of our team, the EA version of the game could very much be a "full release", except we have an entire roadmap planned that we wish to execute.”

“We plan on maintaining a Discord Server as our main communications channel and, depending on how our game is received by the community, opening a JIRA/Trello/similar board so that the community can participate in some objective parts of the development.”

The Monster Mole is an asymmetrical first-person PvP horror survival game where you either try to survive and escape a vicious beast with your teammates, or hunt your prey as the nearly-blind monster that inhabits the surroundings of the fictional town of Dry Lake.


As a survivor, coordinating with your teammates and finding the right balance between being quick and being quiet is key to escaping with your life.
  • Find spare parts and repair your car;
  • Alternatively, find and fuel the generator and escape on foot;
  • Understand the balance between being loud but quick and quiet but slow;
  • Slow down and confound the beast - turn on radios, set down bear traps, collect and throw stones to draw it away from you;
  • Know when to speak - communication is important, but the monster is always listening!
  • Learn to navigate the dark, foggy maps avoiding their many traps.


As the Mole, mastering your understanding of the environmental clues and sounds made by the survivors will more than make up for your limited sight.
  • Make up for your near-sightedness by listening attentively for sounds;
  • Leave behind gooey traps that reveal and slow down survivors;
  • Destroy tools that would otherwise be helpful to the thrill-seekers and knock down doors to houses where they might have barricaded themselves within;
  • Keep the pressure on! The survivors have a limited time to escape, force them into making mistakes by always being on the move.
