What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to build a game we know people will enjoy and the main purpose of the Early Access is precisely this - allowing as many players as possible to play the game and engage in conversation with us, provide feedback and make suggestions. The initial Early Access release contains the first Act of the game, as well the majority of the game's major features. As development continues we will be rolling out updates with more Acts. It is important that we get community feedback to ensure a smooth, and as close to bug-free experience for our launched version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Until the final Act is stable and content ready.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains part of the story and narrative content, as well as the base systems: combat, day&night cycle, character arcs, weapons switch system, shops and items, cooking and camping, overworld abilities. Together with expanded narrative, more enemies, more boss encounters, we also plan to add to additional mechanics such as blacksmithing and alchemy.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Most of the core features of Rising Spire are included in the Early Access version. This includes combat, full dialogues, main story arcs, day/night cycle, camping, cooking, weapons switch, shops and inns, overworld abilities, in-combat items.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change when we leave Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have set up multiple channels of communication in order to accommodate as many players as possible. As mentioned before, player feedback stands the base of our Early Access journey, so this communication is invaluable to us! We are available on the Steam discussions forums, as well as the following channels:

About This Game

Rising Spire is a turn-based RPG born from our love for timeless names such as early Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, and Persona. Play as a Nephilim embarking on an epic journey through the harsh world of Malus - a world caught between the divine war between Angels and Gods. Find the balance between humanity and divinity, form unexpected alliances, and pray that you are doing the right thing. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Rising Spire ditches the traditional class system in favor of a weapons switch system. As you progress through the game, you unlock new weapons, each with its unique abilities, runes and style of gameplay. Tweak your build and lead your party to victory, whether you focus on damage, tank, or support abilities.

Every denizen of Malus has a rich and full existence - while you can take the quick path and rush to the Spire, the full depth of Atlas' journey can only be uncovered by interacting with the characters you meet along the way, hearing their stories, and maybe even helping them out. Complete all Character Arcs for the full experience!

"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it". As it turns out, this is applicable not just for humans, but divine beings as well. The last war between Gods and Angels had devastating effects for everything caught in its blast. But that was a long time ago. In times of peace, a small mistake doesn't mean as much, does it?

Except it does. The exiled Angels, now known as Daemons, have made several small mistakes in their attempt to flee the wrath of the Gods. As the consequences of these mistakes come slowly creeping in, the fate of Malus is put in the feeble hands of a young Nephilim. Inexperienced and potentially blind-sided, will you be able to tell right from wrong?
