About This Game




Learn Japanese through gaming! Nihongo Quest is a colorful JRPG that will teach you over 1000 Japanese words and characters! Explore the world of Gakushū as you battle, race, and draw your way to victory!


  • Learn over 1500 words and characters! This game teaches you up to the N5 level of the JLPT! (with hopefully more to come!)
  • Battle wild characters, students, and evil forces using the Japanese learned in the game!
  • Play through an engaging story as you learn Japanese!
  • Write out the characters that you learn to practice handwriting!
  • Create your own towns using your own vocabulary list!
  • Race against the clock in various mini-games to reinforce your learning!
  • Review using an automatically created, personalized review schedule to help you retain what you learn!
  • Customize your character with character skins!
