Why Early Access?

“Because I only enjoy public humiliation on the weekends. I want to use this advance time with an advance audience to polish the game and deepen the parts that really connect, and hide the bodies of all the bad ideas in a haybale and blame Big Farmer.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 4-5 months, depending on any bumps I run into.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“So many systems are going to come into play:

  • Legislation and Voting systems - for changing the controlling rules of the game every round
  • Bribery systems - Allowing you to circumvent certain rules if you have enough money.
  • So many secrets. So many secrets. So many secrets.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Right now, enough of the game can be played to know whether it's your kind of game (getting contracts, making money, and the open-world board), but the complete ending and the late game mechanics aren't yet installed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to charge full price for the game upon full release. Early Access will be 60% off the final price of the game.

Thanks to Steam's Remote Play Together, only one player ever needs to have the game to play with up to three friends. (But, of course, only the player with the game will unlock the achievements)”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Direct feedback, questionnaires, random invited play sessions with me and friends, all sorts of things. If they want to jump in and finish the rest of the programming I could be convinced.”

About This Game

The Hustle is an open-world board game where you can go anywhere - anywhere - to build your fortune from the bottom up.

  • Go Left, Go Right, Do Whatever - winners don't respect board game conventions. Winners cut through the middle of the board and tell Candyland to shove it.
  • Meddle with Forces Beyond Your Ken - Every round, players vote to change one rule about the game. Adjust your strategy to succeed, or get left in the dust!
  • Don't call it "Bribery!" - That's the invisible hand of the free market shoving $100 into your jeans.
  • Ruin Real-Life Friendships - Cut the dead weight from your social group in classic board-game style!
  • Build a Legacy - Will you be remembered a Miser? A Titan of Industry? A Peasant? Every smart move is another scene in your Oscar-winning biopic, and every dumb move is another shovelful of dirt in your stupid, stupid, anonymous grave.
