What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early access will help me figure out the best way to develop the game further, as well as help better balance it.

During the early access, I plan to constantly update the game, adding new content and new features, fixing bugs. Player feedback will help me a lot here.

The idle genre is well suited for early access. Primarily because the game can be made quite long through formulas, prestige mechanics, and the mechanics of the game itself. Because of this, I expect there won't be a point in the game where it clearly stops and there's nothing to do next, even in early access.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“From 3 to 6 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There will be more content in the final version. This includes game mechanics and graphics. There will be more factions in the game, more unit portraits, hell contracts, etc.

Here's what content is planned to be added:
  • Additional portraits of demons, undead, drowners and warlocks. This should make the unit list longer.
  • New contracts with demons, undead and other factions. Which can be concluded after restarting the game. This is an extension of the prestige mechanic.
  • Faction influence points and faction laws (laws will affect playstyle).
  • Mushroom Farm.
  • Artifacts.
  • New factions with their own resources and list of units.
  • Summoning heroes and other creatures using grimoire spells (this is in the distant plans).

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game has:
  • 4 factions: Demons, Undead, Drowners, and Warlocks. Each faction has a list of units, currently about 20 (but not all of them have portraits). There will be more units in the future. Each faction is responsible for producing its own resource.
  • Energy crystals (something like spells/abilities).
  • Infernal contracts - prestige mechanics.
  • Grimoire (more specific spells).
  • Lots of other minor mechanics.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to read the Steam forum of the game and get feedback from the players that way.

Please leave comments, make suggestions and report bugs!”

About This Game

Underworld Idle is an idle game about underworld management.

The basic mechanics: higher-order units create lower-order units. If you've played games like Swarm Simulator or Antimatter Dimensions, you should be familiar with these mechanics. However, in Underworld Idle I present my own take on these mechanics.

Game Features

  • Factions (demons, undead, utopians, and blackseekers). Each faction is responsible for producing its own resource.
  • Mechanics of creating units. For example, higher demons create lower demons, and so on. The same about units of undead, drowners and warlocks.
  • Infinite progression. Start with a small number of resources and expand into a long list of units and huge numbers.
  • Infernal Contracts - Prestige Mechanics.
  • A variety of locations: lab with energy crystals, junkyard, library with grimoire (containing dark spells).

System Requirements

    Minimum:
    • OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10
    • Processor: 2 GHz+
    • Memory: 512 MB RAM
    • Graphics: 128MB
    • DirectX: Version 9.0c
    • Storage: 50 MB available space
