What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“🧪Scrapping Simulator began as a passion project during a difficult time in my life. After facing health issues and leaving full-time work, I chose to pursue game development seriously. With a love for e-waste recycling and a fresh concept in mind, I launched Scrapping Simulator as an Early Access title to gather community feedback, refine gameplay, and fund continued development through ongoing updates and community support.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“⏳As this is my first major release, it's hard to estimate an exact timeline. My goal is to reach a solid Beta v0.5+ as soon as possible, where the core game is feature-complete. From there, I'll focus on refinement, bug fixes, and optimization on the road to v1.0. Development will continue based on feedback, performance, and polish.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“🏗️The full release is planned to include:
  • A fully explorable open world (targeting 3–5km in size)
  • Vehicles to help navigate the expanded map
  • More diverse E-Waste items
  • Improved Systems, Mechanics and Accessibility Features

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“✅The core gameplay systems are in place, scavenging, disassembling, refining, trading, and upgrading all operate as intended. Development now focuses on polishing existing content, implementing community feedback, adding quality-of-life features, and steadily expanding the game toward a finalized product.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“💳At this stage there are no plans to increase the price either during or after Early Access”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“🗳️Using the Steam Community HUB, Discord Server and In-Game Feedback/Bug Reporting Systems. Using Suggestions, Feedback, Reviews and Bug Reports to make a better final product for all.”

About This Game

⚙️ Scrapping Simulator

A low-poly first-person simulator set in a stylised Australian take on the global e-waste crisis.

Step into the steel-capped boots of an Aussie E-Waste Scrapper.

Hunt down discarded electronics, dismantle them piece-by-piece, and extract valuable materials like Copper, Silver, and Gold, along with lower-value materials such as Iron, Aluminium, Brass, and Plastic.

Sell your scrap for cash, manage your expenses and fluctuating market prices, and expand your operation through smart investments and upgrades.

Every playthrough is shaped by your choices and deep dynamic systems: daily e-waste variety, weather-affected solar power, hundreds of component combinations inside E-Waste, and ever-changing market prices.

A New Game includes a short guided tutorial (10-15 minutes) on Day 1 where time is frozen and energy is capped. Use this time to explore and learn the systems at your own pace. In-game manuals are also available for deeper dives into mechanics.

Best suited for players who enjoy hands-on tasks, meaningful progression, and managing real-world inspired challenges.

Important Clarification:

This is a realism-inspired simulator, not a sandbox destruction game. While dismantling electronics is a core detailed part of the experience, the game also includes bills, financial management, consequences to actions, and many interconnected systems. These elements seem to catch some players off-guard. If you're looking for a carefree sandbox game with no responsibilities, consequences or progression, this may not be the game for you. An Endless Sandbox Mode is not currently planned.

🛠️ Features

🔍 Scavenge & Salvage

Head out early each morning to secure the best finds before rival scrappers beat you to them. Not all junk is worth your time, learning what to take (and what to leave behind) is part of the strategy. Pull Items apart down to the last Screw and gather the Raw Materials hidden inside.

📈 Watch the Market

Track fluctuating prices on your in-game PC. Sell raw or refined metals at the Scrap Yard, offload low-tier electronics at the Pawn Shop to free up time and storage for higher-value targets. Timing and focus can directly impact your profits.

🛒 Upgrade Your Tools

Visit the Hardware Store to purchase better tools to speed up disassembly, solar panels to reduce utility costs & provide idle income, improved item transport options, expanded external storage, and other efficiency-focused upgrades. Spend wisely, not every upgrade provides immediate returns, managing your responsibilities alongside Upgrade purchases is essential.

🔥 Smelt & Refine

In the mid-to-late game, reinvest your profits into a Furnace Set, Crucible, and Ingot Moulds to turn low-value raw Base Metals into high-value ingots. Further into the late game, unlock the Chemical Set to refine pure Gold and Silver for premium returns.

The Furnace & Chemical Sets as glamorous as they sound, do not start producing Ingots out of thin air. These systems take Valuable Raw Metals you've hopefully been accumulating for this very moment, to smelt & refine them into more valuable Ingots.

💪 Level Up & Unlock Perks

Earn XP in Disassembling, Trading, and Scavenging to level-up and gain perk points across three distinct skill trees. Specialise your playstyle and refine your strategy to maximise productivity and long-term profit.

Disassembly too slow? Lean into the Disassembly Skill Tree to improve both Materials Gained and Base Disassembly Speed.

Not enough Items around to keep moving forward? Lean into the Scavenging Skill Tree which will produce more Items for you to Scrap and allow you to carry more Raw Materials.

Can't earn enough Money to sustain your lavish playstyle? Lean into the Trading Skill Tree which Improves Buying & Selling Prices to various Stores.

🧠 Developer’s Note:

Scrapping Simulator is a stylised exaggeration of today’s throwaway culture. It’s about uncovering value in the forgotten. Where some see trash on the curb, others see opportunity, raw materials waiting to be reclaimed.

This is a simulator built on freedom, consequence, and discovery. There is no single “correct” path, only the one you carve out for yourself.
