Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The duration of the Early Access phase will depend on various factors, including community feedback, the implementation of new features, and overall game development progress. We anticipate a period of 2-4 years in Early Access, during which we'll continuously iterate and refine the game.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, our focus lies on the following improvements:

Survival mission mode

• Refine the the mission game mode until it reaches it's full potential.
  
• Achieve around 6 playable factions
  
• Add more biomes, missions and side objectives
  
• Allow players to interact with friends on their home islands.

Art

• Overhaul the current low-poly 3D models to a high-poly, detailed art style
  
• Upgrade the UI
  
• Improve sound effects and extend soundtrack

Other

• Refine the three base factions in terms of uniqueness and feel
  
• Add matchmaking, ranked play and in-game tournaments
  
• Add more more in-game friend interactions through parties, chat and steam community features

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, you can play tutorial challenges, cooperative missions with 1-4 players on procedurally generated maps in three unique biomes or competitively with up to 8 players or AI on handcrafted skirmish maps. There are three factions for competitive play and one faction for missions.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“For the pricing, our main consideration is to keep the the PvP game mode as well as workshop content accessible to as many players as possible. Therefore, we do not expect Arcane Wilds to have a significantly higher price on release and will even consider a price reduction.

For the mission mode, we plan to release new factions regularly in the form of DLCs.

For PvP, we might add purchasable, purely cosmetic content. All PvP factions will always be available to everyone who has obtained the base game.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are actively engaging with players through platforms like the Steam community forums, Discord and Reddit. We are interested in opinions of both unexperienced and experienced RTS players.

While we won't incorporate every suggestion for obvious reasons, we welcome feedback, suggestions, and discussions on all aspects of the game. It is likely that the involvement of the community will add new ideas we would like to explore and possible even bring into the final product in some form.”
