What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Wolfsbane is a game in which gameplay balance and a lot of time spent testing is crucial for a successful product. This is a title that falls into the category of social games, and we all know that social games have only one goal, to ensure people have tons of fun playing them. This is why we decided it’s best to keep Wolfsbane in the early alpha stage until we’re absolutely sure there are no gaps in our concepts, and most importantly, until the feedback from our beloved community is at the 100% positive rate. We made sure that even our early alpha product is still very close to the finished game concept-wise, so those who decide to support us early will definitely have fun playing.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Our team is working tirelessly and we’re making a lot of progress behind the scenes. Whenever we’re confident that we reached a new milestone, we’ll release it as an update that our community can give their feedback on. But, exactly how long this is going to last is something we still can’t say. From our rough estimations, it shouldn’t be more than six months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the concepts in Wolfsbane in many different directions. Our idea for how we envision the final product includes the following changes:
  • New Maps for different amount of players
  • Different game modes
  • New roles with unique abilities
  • Seasonal and event-based updates such as Halloween, New Year’s Eve, Christmas etc…
  • Cosmetics that allow players to customize their in-game look and a lot more.

Being the small indie team we are, creating all this may take some time, but as we said above, the more feedback from our community we have, the easier it will be achieving these goals.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Wolfsbane is completely playable in the Early Access Version. The core concept is completed and players can enjoy the idea of playing a game where proper communication, paying attention to player behavior and having fun are the key things to ensure the best possible experience. We have our core role-specific content ready, village meetings on various locations, three different game phases, Werewolf feeding mechanisms and a lot more. We’d say we’re more than halfway done if you take the full product into consideration. About sixty percent to be exact.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Our goal so far as an indie studio is to create games that are affordable for everyone. We are sure that we won’t be pricing our updates and downloadable content (such as new maps etc…) however, the final release price will be higher than the current Early Access price, as a gratitude for early adopters that will follow the journey.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have multiple different ways of involving the community in our development process. We always value the opinions of our players even when they’re overly-critic. That’s how it was with our previous game and that’s how it’ll be with Wolfsbane as well. We’re planning on launching a community Discord server where our players can share their opinion on our in-game features and concepts. We’ll also have a “leave feedback” section in the main menu of the game where people can also express their thoughts on the latest changes and the overall state of Wolfsbane.
On top of this, we decided to keep our testing branch filled with players who are not developers or connected with us in any way. This is to ensure that we get unbiased and neutral opinions which to us is the most important thing in terms of feedback and heading into the right direction.”

About This Game

Wolfsbane is a simple, stylized multiplayer game set in a vibrant and magical world. Inspired by other social games, Wolfsbane has only one goal, to make you question your friends’ trustworthiness and provide hours of fun. Hop on a magical adventure and get ready to outsmart your way towards victory.

The game is set in a village called Woodpine, a place where the blood moon rises up in the sky once every ten years. During the day, villagers collect various items that will help them fight off the Werewolf when the moon forces the transformation.

When the night comes, it’s all about communication and teamwork. Failing to do that results in getting eaten by the beast.

Each player is assigned a role at the start of the game. They’ll have to use the perks of their role to outplay The Werewolf and win the game.

We already have a few fully-functional roles, but we're planning to add many new ones through updates coming in the near future. Each one of these roles has a unique ability that affects the gameplay in a different way.

If the villagers combine their abilities through proper teamwork they will be able to achieve victory with ease. But, The Werewolf is not to be underestimated.

When the full moon rises, the player set to be The Werewolf can secretly transform and attack in the right moment, then transform back into human form. If the match progresses in the final phase, which is The Blood Moon, it's even more difficult for the villagers to achieve victory, since during this time the beast is permanently transformed and greatly empowered.

A match in Wolfsbane is divided in three different phases. The Daylight / Harvest Phase, the Full Moon Phase, and the final Blood Moon Phase. During each one of these phases, players are given different tasks they must complete, all with the ultimate goal of transforming their fellow villager who is cursed to be the evil werewolf back into human form.
