What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“It all started in 2018 when a programmer and a 3D artist started communicating over Facebook about their common interest and love for the Souls-Like genre and how they would like to make their own game paying homage to the genre. Since then the idea has evolved to the roguelite action RPG Usurper: Soulbound. Our public demo received a lot of positive feedback so far however as a team of two people working on Usurper, we have our shortcomings and we believe getting the players involved during the development process sooner rather than later and developing the game through feedback is the best way of making sure we can give them the best experience possible.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Based on our current plans 2023 Q1 but this can change depending on the features we end up adding based on how the game is received and how it will progress during early access.

Current Road Map: ”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add more content such as new enemies, new bodies to usurp, new equipment etc ...”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

  • Fully playable single player and local multiplayer campaign.
  • Six different bodies to usurp and play as with their own unique weapons and stats.
  • Two procedurally generated dungeon floors in the crypt world.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change during early access but we plan to increase the price upon full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community can talk to us and give us their feedback through the Steam Discussions Forum . We are very eager to involve the community in every step of our development journey.”

Story

This is the tale of a King, whose rule was so horrifying, that his soul refused to move on and clinged to the world of the living by possessing the bodies of others by using the power of the Usurper.

Heroes united in locking him away and there was once again peace in the land….
Until you, my dear Hero, ruined that peace with your ignorance and greed.

From even the greatest of horrors irony is seldom absent. - H.P Lovecraft
