Why Early Access?

“Fech The Ferret is an ambitious open world platformer where we aim to give an experience similar to playing in a big playground as a kid, a lively place filled with things to do. Due to the small size of the team, it's taking us a long time to reach that goal. Being in Early Access makes it possible to improve and refine the game, as well as keep ourselves open for community feedback.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Most likely until the end of 2023. Due to the underlying open world nature, it's hard to determine this upfront.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There will be many differences in terms of amount of content, like new zones and rhythmic levels to play, as well as new NPCs to talk to. You will also see an increased visual variety as sections of the game get finalized.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the time of writing - Summer 2022 - the available contents are:
- Nearly half of the game world
- All of the core gameplay
- The beginning of the story
- Some of the 3D assets, such as landmarks and decorations”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the game will not change during Early Access. It's however likely it will raise upon release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our Discord server and the Steam forums are the main ways to provide us feedback. During the past 4 years the Discord community has been the place where we would discuss about the vision of the project, sometimes leading to big and small changes.”
