The Game of The Playful is a visual novel developed by a single individual, with character artwork contributed by external artists. The game was created with the Visual Novel Maker engine.

You assume the role of the heroine and embark on sixteen distinct, standalone stories. Each narrative focuses on building a connection—be it a friendship or a romantic relationship—with one specific character. As the stories are independent of one another, your journey in each is dedicated solely to that character.

Game style and atmosphere: I aim to create a gentle, healing atmosphere that encourages empathy with the sorrow in the storylines. The game includes 16 individual story routes, each with a different female protagonist and her own independent identity and ending. Most stories involve the heroine confronting past trauma, and since each has a different background, their traumatic experiences vary. The overall tone is therapeutic, guiding players to face life with positivity and optimism.

Most routes include both a friendship and a romantic ending with the male lead, and some have up to five endings (such as "Death Bad End" and "Stranger Bad End"), bringing the total to 40 so far. Player choices determine the outcome. I hope players feel a sense of gentle care, healing, and deep emotion throughout the game.

Most of the game script is narrated in the third person.
