What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Our philosophy is centered around "public development," and we're committed to offering open development builds of our game to our supporters. This approach allows our community to guide development, and we believe it's the most effective way to move forward. This particular build is automatically updated every six hours with the latest version of our project, straight from the code repository. As a result, you'll be able to see each and every update as it's implemented, giving you the chance to provide immediate feedback on new features.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Operation: Harsh Doorstop will be in early access until the following features are achieved.

1. Full infantry gameplay.
2. Basic ground vehicles.
3. Basic construction and logistics systems.

Additional features we plan to (hopefully) add AFTER early access include things such as.

1. Destructible environments.
2. Airborne and leviathan class vehicles.
3. Weapon and soldier customization.
4. In-game mission and map editors.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Upon release, the full version of Operation: Harsh Doorstop will feature the essential mechanics for a complete team versus team military simulation sandbox. This will include vehicles and the ability to construct outposts. Additionally, we plan to continually expand the game, even beyond Early Access, by adding more features such as destructible environments, aircraft, leviathan class vehicles, weapon customization, and in-game editors. As we gain more supporters, we are committed to enhancing the game to provide an even more immersive and engaging experience for our players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At present, Operation: Harsh Doorstop is a fully-functional first-person shooter game that focuses on infantry-based combat. The game boasts several features, including mod support, Steam workshop integration, and multiplayer, cooperative, and single-player modes with bot opponents. Our team is committed to continually expanding the game with new features and improvements until it becomes a fully-fledged military simulation sandbox. With your support, we can realize this vision and provide an even more immersive and engaging experience for players.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Operation: Harsh Doorstop is a free game already available to everyone on Steam. However, those who choose to donate to the project will gain access to exclusive early-access builds of the game, such as this one.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We prioritize our community's involvement in every stage of our game's development. Providing access to development builds (like this one) allows our supporting members to have an even greater impact on that process. By supporting us and gaining access to this version of the project, you'll be able to preview every hotfix, every new feature, and every new system that's planned for upcoming patches. We believe that involving our community in this way allows us to receive valuable feedback and make improvements that ultimately benefit all players.”
