What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Dreamworld is an experimental online multiplayer drug dealing game with a focus on making deals and coordinating a team of players to increase their wealth and perceived status in the game. This requires a great deal of iteration and testing with how a growing numbers of players understand and react to the possibilities laid out before them in dreamworld. Early Access gives an opportunity to tinker with many facets of the game in an attempt to better the experience for everyone.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We think Dreamworld is currently in the early stages of Early Access, and we plan to leave Early Access within a year, 2 years max when we feel we’ve delivered on the vision we developed with our community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We aim to expand upon the features currently in the game, including:
1. More base characters models . More appeal options. More stats to advance using XP.
2. More gameplay options to provide a richer experience for players.
3. A community based tutorial system, to improve the overall social experience.
4. We may eventually add a single-player mode with story to follow.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already provides a complete game experience, including basic survival hazards for the player to survive against, various stores and private sellers to shop with, tons of cosmetic items to style your character, and basic system functions such as core proximity/team/global chat, maps, and an clothing system that allows players to outfit and customize their characters. At the same time, the Early Access version features impressive graphics and sound effects, a user interface, and meets all basic game requirements. We are aware of some technical issues which we’re working to resolve as soon as possible so that everyone can enjoy the game the way it was intended to be played.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There has been no final determination in price or a price increase by Dreamworld team at this time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We have community app which allows players to upload their art work into for use in dreamworld

About This Game

Gameplay Summary

DreamWorld is an online, PVP urban survival, drug dealing game with RPG elements, based in Philadelphia (specifically low-income areas). Everything costs money in DreamWorld - even your own survival. Money is the standard resource in DreamWorld. Your primary goal as a player is survival and your end goal is to form your online network of players in order to make money to amplify your virtual life. New players spawn into the world with $0, naked and homeless, in a random spawn location on the map. All players have to make money for basic needs such as:

  • food- restores various stats. If you starve you die
  • water- restores various stats. If you dehydrate you die
  • clothing- protect player from elements. could die if not properly protected in certain weather conditions
  • housing- offer a player a safe place to do various tasks and stay protected from outside weather conditions
  • and more....

The daily grind in DreamWorld is a lengthy process unless you form a massive team. Grinding for money/experience is time consuming, so it’s always the goal in DreamWorld to have people do it for you, that way you'll be able to spend your time doing other things, such as shopping for luxury items, upgrades, constructing new homes, breeding dogs etc.

Outside of the basic need stores, there are a variety of other stores and shopping centers throughout DreamWorld. Players use the money they've earned from surviving to shop at these stores and horde the extra items in their home or stash house, such as

  • Jewelry
  • Vehicles
  • Furniture
  • and many more...

Players can buy pet dogs from the pet store. Dogs are your best friend and defense companions; your dogs will protect your territory online and offline. You can even travel with your dogs to be safe from other players or to raid other players. Dog death are permanent in DreamWorld. Players can breed dogs to avoid the financial drain of buying new dogs every time one of their dogs die. Each dog is born with a unique set of stats, which can be increased by training and performing various tasks with your dog.

DreamWorld is a pretty dangerous place. There are a lot of crimes being committed. It is the job of DreamWorld’s police department to keep DreamWorld safe. DreamWorld police are real players, but they aren’t playing the same game as the survivalist.

The police do not have to form a gang like the survivalist, instead they partner with other police and usually travel in pairs or more, never alone. DreamWorld police are very strong compared to survivalists, so the numbers of police allowed on the map is limited but this does not stop their effectiveness.
