Since 2012, Klei has used Early Access as a tool to gather feedback and develop in collaboration with players, producing games like Don’t Starve Together, Oxygen Not Included, and Griftlands.

By releasing this game in Early Access, we hope to continue to grow our community and get more people involved in its development.”

“The plan for the full version of Mind Over Magic is to create even more content to allow players to create fantastic schools, harness the power of their graduates, and explore what waits below. Expect more decorations, more items and abilities, and frightful new creatures in the Underschool.

We’ll also be expanding the game world to include more lore tidbits and challenges for your students, as well as additions we make based on feedback and community suggestions.

Mod support is also very important to us, so we expect to have full workshop support by launch or shortly thereafter.”

早期アクセスバージョンの現状はどうなっていますか？

“The Early Access version of Mind Over Magic supports constructing a block-based school with structural and magical support rules. You’ll control staff members to build furnishings to keep your school running – from mundane amenities like beds, dining tables, and torches to magical items like enchanted spindles that stitch together undead minions. Your furnishings and architecture combine to create fabulous rooms in your school. You’ll recruit new students and train them in seven different magical disciplines, all of which have practical uses in keeping the school running. You will send students and staff to explore the dungeons below the school and face dangerous creatures and collect ancient lore.

You’ll teach and cast spells from seven different skills (Fire, Water, Dark, Nature, Air, Earth, Lightning) to cultivate exotic plants, brew potions, harvest resources, cook meals, research arcane lore, and powerful wands and advanced magical reagents.

You’ll have control over scheduling (including scheduling classes, recreation time, meals, and sleep), contend with weather (from gentle showers to cold snaps and destructive electric storms), expand your school grounds, and manage characters with different talents and stats. Your characters will learn, graduate, dance, and sometimes die, leaving their ghosts to haunt the school.

The game already has enough systems and content for at least 50-100 hours. It is lovingly supported by the dev team with a dedicated closed beta group and multiple public playtests that have helped us refine features up to this point. Major bugs and problems are hot-fixed quickly with feature releases dropping regularly.”

“As we continue to add value to the game throughout Early Access, we expect the base price to be raised at the official launch.”
