Why Early Access?

“SpellPunk is a VR game with huge potential and although at the current stage of its development the game is fully playable, we strongly believe that we can give our players a much deeper experience. As SpellPunk is a multiplayer game, we want to get the community on board and playing it as soon as possible. This will allow us to determine the direction we want to take SpellPunk into and get that oh so important PvP balancing done just right. We are willing to develop the game with the community as our co-pilot, because the single most important thing to a multiplayer game is the players playing it.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We already have some additional features we want to implement in our game on our mind. Although they are strictly planned out in our development cycle, we are willing to also implement features which came from our community. We are very open to suggestions from our early supporters, so depending on complexity and amount of community features we expect to leave Early Access in about half a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of SpellPunk will feature new customisable avatars, battle arenas, new game modes including 2v2, 3v3 and daily challenges and many new spells. We plan to roll out bi-weekly updates to the game with new and exciting content, as well as balance changes based on the community feedback we receive.

We also have plans to support the Valve Index and knuckle controllers for the full version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the current stage of development SpellPunk is a fully playable VR experience with 1v1 matchmaking game mode featuring 8 full body avatars, 5 battle arenas and 11 different spells.

However SpellPunk is much more than an ordinary game for our whole team and it goes without saying that we will continuously improve every facet of the game and add new and exciting features until its full potential is realized.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We believe in giving advantages to our early supporters, so we intend to increase the price of SpellPunk when we release the full version of the game later this year. It is unnecessary to mention that players who join us during the Early Access period will have access to the full version of the game no matter how large it grows with time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“During the early development of SpellPunk we’ve done our absolutely best to gather as much feedback as possible. The process of building an active community and involving those people in the whole development cycle of SpellPunk was something that shaped our whole understanding of how a game should be created and delivered. To be honest, everyone in our team is incredibly excited about the possibilities that Early Access might unlock and the process of making all of you, our first supporters, part of our journey. We will be fully transparent with our development and give you an inside look of what goes on with our game developers, artists and designers.
