Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect The Gold River Project to remain in Early Access for 12–18 months. Our focus is quality over speed; building each season, system, and biome to the standard players deserve. The game will leave Early Access when all planned seasons, storylines, and major gameplay systems are complete.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version introduces the foundation of the game: exploration, survival systems, crafting, and the Summer and Fall seasons. The full version will include:
- Summer, Fall, and Winter seasons with unique challenges and biomes
- Expanded story and lore
- Additional wildlife, hazards, and weather events
- Additional camper factions - from friendly to hostile
- Deeper crafting, base-building, and co-op systems
- Improved optimization, balance, and polish across all content

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access launch will include the Summer and Fall seasons, full co-op support, survival systems, crafting, camper factions, and the first major progression milestones. Players can explore, build, and uncover the early stages of the story while helping us refine gameplay and performance. Future updates will expand content, threats, and narrative depth.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will increase after Early Access as new content and features are added.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback drives our roadmap. We’ll continue to actively monitor Steam reviews, Discord discussions, and social channels to identify what players love, and what needs work. Regular updates will include developer notes, patch highlights, and opportunities to test new features before release.

About This Game

The Gold River Project™ throws you and your friends into an epic, wilderness adventure! Try to escape a grueling experiment across one of the largest private nature reserves in the Pacific Northwest. You are being watched, studied and manipulated at every turn. Scavenge resources, solve the mysteries within and try to survive another day.

CAMP SOLO OR WITH FRIENDS

Welcome to Gold River! A remote camping adventure you can do alone or with friends. A chartered float plane will drop you off by beautiful lakes where you can kayak, hike the gorgeous trails, make camp and fall asleep counting the stars.

TRIP BECOMES A TRAP

One week turns into several as you suspect your guide is never coming back. Deserted, you discover you are trapped and now an unwilling lab rat. Can you survive an ever changing, artificial environment and it's inhabitants?

WE ARE MOTHER NATURE

Find a way through increasingly harsh environments, adapt to their unique challenges, and out smart your captors to survival and find a way out.
