What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Population Zero’s development is near the finishing line. The game’s systems and variety of mechanics are in their proper places. It has a gripping story and a fascinating world. However, there are areas that still need more polish and attention. Early Access is a great tool that allows developers to give players full access not only to the game but also to the development process. Players’ feedback is an invaluable source of new ideas. Their insight will help us create a truly one-of-a-kind survival experience in the known Universe.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning the Early Access stage to last not less than 9 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We have got a lot of ideas for new regions, resources, apparel, game modes, and even new mechanics. Beyond that, we will be able to make dynamic balancing adjustments and real-time performance improvements. There are also plans for expanding the pool of languages so that players from different parts of the world can enjoy Population Zero in their mother tongue. The more interesting feature requests we will get from our users, the more additions we will be able to incorporate. We see Early Access as collaborative development where players become members of the team.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Population Zero Early Access build is much more than a playable concept. It is a fully-fledged game with seven distinct biomes, dozens of quests and numerous NPCs. We offer players to experience a new take on exploration-survival - our unique story-driven 7-day sessions with the ability to level up their accounts. Players will be able to gather various resources, craft awesome gear, engage in PvE and PvP battles, create unique characters using our elaborate Perk and Technology systems, build their own shelters and even fortresses to defend themselves from the dangers of the world.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the full release will increase as it will have more content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are inviting all our players to leave their comments and share feedback on our official forums, social platforms, and Population Zero’s Discord channels (https://discordapp.com/invite/populationzero). Every comment will be read, every voice will be heard. Our community managers will gather the most thoughtful and useful responses and forward them to specific teams where best ideas will be reviewed, fleshed out and put into the game.”

About This Game

The Story

Your ship was destroyed. With no chance of returning to Earth, you face an unknown frontier. There are 168 hours left until human extinction. Repair the reactor and restart your hibernation pod to save yourself. Fail and become a creature of nightmares. Unite with fellow colonists or destroy them all!

PvE or PvP? You decide!

Population Zero is perfect for newcomers as well as hardcore survivalists. Play in PvE modes and explore the planet without fear of losing your hard-earned gear in an uphill battle against seasoned veterans. Having studied the rules of survival on Kepler, dive into the competitive game modes to show off your combat skills. Then up your game by joining a Hardcore PvP session with only a single life. Learn, adapt, and slay your rivals!

Unleash the Void within

In PvP game modes death is the new beginning. Multiple respawns increase the mutation level and eventually transform you into an overpowered monster. The Void are extremely powerful. Take revenge on your offenders! Team up with other mutants to bring chaos and destruction. But do not be arrogant! A united, well-knit group of colonists can hunt you down.

Survive through different game modes

During the 7-day cycles, you will explore the planet, complete quests, survive against hostile environments and different enemies, build, craft and gain knowledge about the game world. Successful play grants experience points necessary to level up your player account. New levels give access to a variety of game modes and mechanics.

Explore and Uncover

Kepler is a vast seamless world with seven distinct Biomes. By exploring the game world you will learn more about the story and develop your character. Set forth on a journey! Explore the wilderness to learn new technologies, craft new gear and uncover Kepler’s secrets.

Crush Your Enemies

Hunt wild beasts for resources and battle human rivals for Kepler’s supremacy. Pick your weapon of choice from a wide selection of hand-carried arms. Each weapon type has its own set of moves and animations. Master the skill-based combat system. Outsmart your enemies and crush them.

Character Development

Utilize Technology Tree and Perks to develop your colonist. Unlock Technologies to acquire new crafting recipes. Perks are stat bonuses that are unlocked randomly, vary in their value and obtainment requirements. Both systems will help you fight for survival more effectively.
