Why Early Access?

“Stramedia: my_MISADVENTURE is my first actual commercial project that holds a special place in my heart and has been in development for quite awhile (since June 2016). I was spending a lot of time fiddling around with ideas, stories, heck I even rewrote the game itself (both story-wise and code-wise (in other words - starting over from scratch)) about over 6-8 times, and as of now I am happy with the direction I am actually taking it now!

...what was the question again? Oh, right. I chose Early Access (sure, the game is not even 100% complete, it's not really polished, yadda yadda yadda) is because I want to know what the community thinks of the game so far, toss around some ideas, bug reports and any constructive ideas that would shape up the game, saving some revenue for the good stuff that would help make Stramedia a better higher quality product!

In a nutshell: I didn't really want to make a Kickstarter/IndieGoGo funding campaign for this game nor make it's development builds Patreon exclusive, because I want a lot of people to try this game out while also helping me out shape the game into a more somewhat smooth experience and making it possibly more accessible to more devices with different system requirements, other game controllers and non-English speaking players. And it's all with the power of friendship, stupidity and stress! Hurray!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I honestly have absolutely no idea when I am gonna reach the endpoint of the game's main development process, so to avoid jumping the gun on the final release date I may only say that Stramedia will remain in Early Access for at least roughly 1 or 2 years, or in worst case scenario - only when the game's 100% complete and as polished as possible.

Whenever things will change, I will be sure to update this part (if possible) and let you know about anything "final release", but for now - that kinda will depend on what the game's development state will be in the coming months or years.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Stramedia: my_MISADVENTURE will have a lot more content to check out: a fully playable story campaign with various endings, other possible gamemodes, fun stuff like collectibles, and other fun stuff like that.

Also I do think that there should be even more puzzles, a special permadeath campaign mode and...uhhh...all the other goods I have in mind. Maybe the Steam Workshop support? I dunno! Who knows?! However, after the final full release of the game I may still add more content to it or straight up make additional story campaigns? Don't worry, those may be optional, however I won't promise any of these will likely get made, so good for you. For now.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game overall is playable, I guess: the core elements are present, you can do stuff, however I still have a lot of work to do, like more chapters for the main story campaign, some neat game mechanics and their tweaks, and so on! ...also, if you encounter any bugs or glitches, hit me up okay? Because you'd probably encounter a lot of issues that I may have probably missed.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do have plans to gradually increase the game's price based on how much content, features have been added into the game and if there will be any third parties involved with the game's development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We can pretty much discuss any of the game's issues and it's overall state on the itch.io and Steam Discussion Boards, the Game Jolt page comment section (or a specialized post), Twitter (@stramediagame) or the game's official Discord Server (keep an eye out on the description for when that becomes a thing :eyes:).

I would really like for the Community to... pretty much send me general feedback about the game's current state, this includes sharing bug reports, suggestions (although I may or may not accept extremely overambitious ideas that may also interfere with the current story in the works. lol) and spread the word about the game that is in the works and already accepts public funding via alpha payments.”

Me and my mom have been having a good dinner in the kitchen that night, then the doorbell rang and an envelope slipped through the mail hole.

"Good evening! You've been invited!"

...it started off, continuing that it's an invitation to the "Stramedia Safehouse Facility" breach. The survey was...odd, to say the least, but some of the things were done fairly easy, though I didn't think it would go through. Then some of the days were spend outside of our homes and school, though it's up to you to think of whenever or not these were the good days. And then I am sure you know what happened next.


Stramedia - my_MISADVENTURE is an indie horror themed adventure game where you step into the shoes of a classroom warden who signed the agreement to possibly the most bizarre, yet somewhat deadly school trip in his entire life. Of course it may not start off deadly right away, but, uh...yeah, things are gonna escalate. But can you blame him? He really didn't know what he and his friends (fiends? Frienemies?) were going up for.

Well, what can he do now? Surprise, surprise, getting the hell outta there he must.



(AKA: the stuff worth checking it out and/or purchasing for)
  • The main protagonist is wearing a fedora hat! This is probably the best selling point to this game... I think! I mean...this is one of the main factors you got attracted to that other game with a kid, the kid's hat, the stuff...uh, no? Okay, but if you know what you're doing, you can find and recruit three other friends you'll get (or have) to play as!

  • Essentially, this is another "average mediocre indie" horror game, except the mediocrity here is 99% intentional! And not to mention that it's got everything you love and hate to see and experience in a horror themed videogame! Stupid simple and ridiculous (and somehow twisted) puzzles (with a lot of "ands"), cliché monsters and thirsty spooky mannequins...except they actually want to drink tea, you pervert. Get out of here!

  • Simplistic Visual Pixel Art Style, Soundtrack and Audio Design! If you like looking at pixels with different contrast, I am sure your eyes will love that, and if your ears love to feast on the Low-Quality DPCM-ish Audio, giving you an illusion that you're playing a crappy retro GameBoy Advance styled game or something, then you're all welcome in!..oh, wait, I forgot that we are talking about a game that LOOKS pretty retro...huh, that's lame.

  • No, really. That kid has a hat.

  • Despite it's horror nature, it's also a comedy game! What kind of comedy? This game has got most of it! Whenever it's all bad puns, visual humor, random, dark, dry or somehow outright gross and ("mildly") offensive humor, Stramedia has it in the stock and shelves!

  • Prepare for some surrealism, because no matter if it's an optical thing or not, things are...weird, yet somewhat disturbing, but not personal space like disturbing, because this is where it draws the line even for us.

  • A nice variety of accessibility options! Whenever you want to reposition the dialogue box, change it's text size, whenever you find some colored text hard to read, or just don't feel like playing the game with a controller and just want to rest your only arm and control the game with it, it's no problem! The accessibility (and other) settings options may enhance the experience more nicely! (if there's something you want to suggest, please let us know and we will gladly look into adding it!)

  • Seriously, that kid is wearing my hat! SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING! DON'T LET HIM GET AWAY WITH MY HAT!! >:U

Despite the pixelated/cartoony visuals of Stramedia: my_MISADVENTURE, the game contains visual depictions of graphic violence with occasional dismemberment, use of strong language (although the player can turn it off in the Preferences settings menu) and references to several mature themes and other contents that may not be suitable for some audiences.
