What is Big Hops?

Tongue-swing, free climb, and build your own path forward in a new kind of 3D platformer! Plant veggies to grow bounce pads, tightropes, hookshots. You play as Hop, a young frog kidnapped from his home by a mysterious spirit named Diss. To get back to your family, you’ll need to gather Airship Parts scattered across the Red Desert, Open Ocean, and Shattered Mountain—all while getting roped into Diss’s strange, important job…

With Big Hops, we want to take a step forward for 3D platformers rather than retreading existing ground. This game is our answer to the question 'What could 3D platformers be with deeper, freer movement and emergent gameplay?'

Deep Movement & Emergent Systems

Between familiar 3D platforming, fluid parkour, and fresh tongue mechanics, you have a lot of movement options as Hop! Once you learn the ropes, you'll be able to get around VERY fast. Get ready to run, jump, climb, wall-run, dive-roll, tongue swing, hookshot, and much more!

On top of deep movement, we've also got a deep sandbox. As you explore the world of Hops, you'll find loads of veggies each with surprising and useful effects on the world. You'll still be discovering new ways items can interact, even a dozen hours in.

It turns out adding a frog to a 3D platformer gives a lot of opportunity for fresh feeling tongue-focused gameplay! Aside from tasting veggies you can also use your tongue to:

• Grab items from afar

• Activate contraptions and solve puzzles

• Swing around, launch yourself, hookshot up walls, and more

A World of Animals

Across the Red Desert, Open Ocean, and Shattered Mountain you'll meet a charming cast of animal friends and foes! In addition to frogs, you'll meet rabbits, raccoon, gulls, otters, bats, and more. Featuring adorable character designs by Steven Sugar.
