Why Early Access?

“We choose Early Access because this is a community driven game, we consider feedback with the community to be very important, the game has many aspects to it, whether you are a player, a modder or a chart creator, we consider community feedback to be very important to build a great game, and obtaining and applying this feedback to the many aspects of the game is a must.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Generally we'd like to keep it for as little time as possible in early access. We expect the game to be in early access for a bit over a year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The final game will of course be better and contain less bugs, but there are many features that are still in the backlog, the objective is to first work on the basic game mechanics and then jump on to work on extra and quality of life features (such as Steam Workshop support or Multiplayer).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently playable, you can create your own songs, play them, or simply enjoy the built-in songs, however some bugs are to be expected, controller support is limited to xbox controllers and some features don't have the polish you'd expect from a full release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will receive a slight raise from early access to release, we'd like to thank those that stuck with us from the start by giving them a lower price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community is very important to the rhythm game genre, and it's the sole reason why we are still here, listening to the community is very important and understanding feedback from experimental game concepts is also important. Feedback can be given through our official Discord server, however feedback given through the Steam discussion boards is also accepted.”

Play over 25 hand-charted official songs, enjoy the insanity of multiplayer or make your own using the chart editor!

Play officially licensed high-quality songs from many different artists!

Project Heartbeat features songs from SuganoMusic, TORAV4 and Galaxian Recordings! More than 15 songs are in development! Hit the indicated buttons to build your score and conquer the fast adrenaline pumping Eurobeat and pop songs!

The game allows for two different styles, hopefully you will enjoy both of them!

Play, create and share custom content on the Steam Workshop!

With our bespoke professional-grade editor you create your own charts and share them with your friends on the Steam Workshop, all community-made songs get their own leaderboards and you can even use videos as backgrounds!

Additionally, you can also share and play custom resource packs made by the community! You can create your own note graphics and even change the whole UI completely!

Project Heartbeat includes its own custom open source audio engine named Shinobu, refined after 5 years of development, it results in the lowest latency, most responsive rhythm game experience!

Shinobu also makes use of a tickless system (popularized by Counter-Strike 2) to ensure sub-frame accuracy of inputs, truly delightful!
