Expand upon the stunning Konstanz – Villingen route with the even more impressive Black Forest extension to Hausach!

Spanning 53 kilometres (33 miles) through the dense Black Forest, the line from Villingen to Hausach forms part of a larger link to Freiburg, although unlike the more conventional lines such as those that head towards Konstanz, the Black Forest route traverses an unrelenting valley that requires skill and wits to traverse.

In order to overcome the challenging terrain, much of the Black Forest route was built at a steep gradient, swooping through hairpin loops in order to change elevation in a shorter distance. Despite the artificial lengthening of the line, it offered a new, faster path through the Black Forest and as such it quickly became a popular route for both passenger and freight traffic alike. Atop all that, the views it had on offer made it a spectacular trip for sightseers, a trait which it retains to this day.

In Train Simulator, you can explore the breath-taking scenery for yourself as you drive trains from Konstanz to Villingen and onto the Black Forest line to Hausach, with over 140 kilometres (87 miles) of authentically recreated rails!
