What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I've developed the base gameplay far enough along that at this point the bulk of the development will be creating new levels and interesting mechanics to work with inside of those levels.

I'm only one person and I'd love to really get a community involved in the direction of the game and to bounce ideas off of to hopefully create the most fun game possible.

I plan on very frequent but small incremental updates every 1-2 weeks pending life events/etc, will try to give notice if a shipment will be delayed. All development will be completely transparent and accessible so if you like the game feel free to get involved.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“~6-12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of the game will feature:
  • At least 20 maps, of varying sizes
  • Finalized graphical/audio assets
  • Finalized menus and UI
  • Fully balanced physics and upgrade/money values
  • A handful or more "skins" for each ball type
  • In-game cheats
  • Fully polished multiplayer
  • More complete Steam integration where appropriate e.g. trading cards, achievements

This will make up the total planned game as it is today to reach a full 1.0 release.

In addition to this may be any outstanding community ideas and recommendations which may include more game modes or other creative ideas I can't predict. Again, I'd like to have a strong community integration to make this the best possible game I can.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Base gameplay is ready to go (all ball upgrade/stats). Profile creation, main menus, level selection, in game menus, proper PC settings menu are all in and usable except for the audio levels. 4 levels ready to play in various states of completion. Some menus are much more rough than others.

Many things will be unbalanced from physics forces to upgrade stats and their costs.
Some objects have graphical anomalies or have unfinished or place holder assets.
Sound effects are subject to change or are missing/unfinished/unpolished.
There's currently no music.

Standard controllers fully supported in all menus and gameplay other than typing in a profile name/any direct text input as is standard on PC. Vibration/feedback is in a very early state.

In-game cheats and ball material/"skins" options are not in yet.

ONLINE PLAY IS IN A WORK-IN-PROGRESS STATE. Online play can be done via lobbies which can be started from the main menu. Expect bugs online.

In-game statistics aren't implemented yet.

Save games shouldn't ever be broken, the profile structure shouldn't ever change drastically at this point. However, things can happen and saves may not be compatible.

Development priority:
1. Fix technical and accessibility issues/online support
2. Create new levels/content
3. Polishing/extra features peppered into the rest of development”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will go up a little on full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll be very active on the forums where I'd like to "funnel" support to so that everything is discoverable from searches. I'll also maintain a discord server for more real time communication. Will always be open for feedback or suggestions or ideas so if you like the game and want to get involved go for it and help shape the game.”
