Why Early Access?

“Player feedback is important to our development and fine-tuning process. The Multiverse in We Are Screwed! is procedurally generated, making every run unique. Involving the community by bringing the game to Early Access allows us to gather essential feedback for the balancing of our game as well as improving the game’s systems and mechanics. It is our goal to provide the best possible experience for our players!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is to have a 6 to 7 month Early Access period, however this may change depending on the community’s feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to incorporate more content for the full version of We Are Screwed! Our top priority is stage 3 and we also want to add more bosses, items, side missions, and modules. Over the course of Early Access we will refine, balance and polish the game based on the community’s feedback as well and may consider implementing crazy fun ideas suggested by the players.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access build provides 2 out of 3 stages in the Multiverse, which are fully playable with the core features already present and offers 6+ hours of gameplay. The player can enjoy the game alone or with a co-op team and pilot a space ship through the Multiverse. Shoot turrets down and defend your ship against a swarm of enemies. Extinguish fires, clean up, fix and recycle. But most importantly, don't forget to pet Scrappy!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the game will have a price increase upon full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The community will be involved in every step of development and can provide us with feedback, suggestions and bug reports in our Discord server, Steam Discussions and on our social channels. Community feedback is invaluable for the balancing of our game and we will listen to the best (and feasible) ideas which may influence the future of the game.”

About This Game



We Are Screwed! is a chaotic co-op space action game for 1-4 players. Working as a team, you and your fellow Space Cadets must save the Multiverse from collapsing. Slide into the pilot’s seat, operate turrets, become a mechanic or even a janitor on your quest to find the culprit who disturbed the balance of the Multiverse.

THE MULTIVERSE IS IN DANGER


The Multiverse is in danger! Some wacko stole multiple Great Plugs, which are items of great importance that bind the many universes together. Without the plugs, anyone can traverse the different galaxies via a series of pipes. However, if the pipes are left open, the plug-less galaxy will slowly die and disappear.

S.H.E.L.D.O.N., your sassy on-board A.I. guides you on your quest to find the thief and bring back balance to the Multiverse! Along the way, you may meet a bunch of other intergalactic travellers in dire need of help. A mysterious drone, an odd hermit, a merchant space octopus... and cats?!

Helping them is up to you; who knows, they might join your perilous adventure.

LIFE ON BOARD


Fresh out of the Space Academy, you or a team of up to 4 Space Cadets must pilot, shoot turrets, extinguish fires, clean up, repair, recycle and re-enforce your ship with upgrades while swarms of enemies bombard you with vicious attacks.

With an inner and outer split-screen view of the ship, multitasking, and good teamwork are key to success and crucial in the hardest difficulties.

EVERY RUN IS UNIQUE FOR INFINITE FUN


The Multiverse in We Are Screwed! is procedurally generated, making every run unique! Regardless of whether or not you choose to try out a new spacecraft or module, it will always be a brand-new adventure.

UNLOCK NEW VESSELS

A variety of abandoned ships lie scattered around the Multiverse. Repair them to their former glory and get ready for a whole new ride as each offers distinctly different play styles for your crew! Some vessels are larger with more module slots and cargo space. Others are smaller, faster, and more agile, but offer fewer slots and cargo space.


DISCOVER NEW MODULES

Find and unlock new modules and discover crazy new weapons, defences, and other tools. Upgrade them from your hub and prepare your ship for epic boss battles!


But most importantly, don’t forget to pet Scrappy! He is always hungry and will convert any item or junk you feed him into scraps that can be used to buy things while you are on a mission.

HOW TO PLAY WITH CREWMATES FROM ANOTHER GALAXY

  • With Parsec: Parsec is an external tool used to stream your computer screen to your mates, while they can use their own controllers for the game. It’s an easy way to play with your friends! (Fun fact: We even used it while developing the game from the home office!)

      1. Open Parsec. You’ll all need your own account.
      2. Add your friends to your friends list.
      3. Your friends can now see your computer and ask for permission to join!
      4. Start your game on Steam and let the fun begin!

  • With Steam Remote Play Together: Steam Remote Play Together streams your game and doesn’t require any external tool.

      1. Open Steam. You’ll all need your own account.
      2. Open “We Are Screwed!”.
      3. Two options:
       - Open the Steam Overlay (Ctrl+Shift), right click on your friend’s name in the friends list and select “Invite to Remote Play together”.
       - In the pause menu of “We Are Screwed!”, select “Invite Friends” and select them from your friends list.
