What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Elusive Verge has been in development since 2019. Our amazing and big team – consisting of mostly but not only me - is working super hard to bring this new sci-fi exploration game to Steam. Our aim is to create the best possible experience and, through the delivery of a modest but polished title, to become a part of indie game industry. But what's the game without input from the community? We want to share our development process with you and with your help make this game even better!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“It's hard to say. Making a video game is a completely new experience for some of us. With that said, our main priority is delivering not just playable but simply a completed product and there’s still a lot of work ahead of us. Currently we’re adding new features, testing different ideas and expanding the game story and gameplay-wise. With your support we should be able to release the full game around the second part of 2022.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“What we would like to achieve in the final product is:
- Expanding existing systems (i.e. more upgrades to player character, base, weaponry etc.)
- Finished story (concluded in five chapters)
- More optimalization
- Full VR support
- Full controller support
- Multiplayer - co-op and PvP
- Sandbox mode for building underground facilities”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The basic content is in place and most of the mechanics are finished. Currently players are able to participate in:

Character development

Player-controlled drone can be customized in two different ways. The first, more basic one, is increasing its statistics through crafting an upgrade modules. This is a standard, linear progression which allows players to make their character more powerful level by level.

Second additions come in the form of special equippable modules, which offer a vast choice of specific perks, which players can equip/unequip on the character.
Few examples of that would be: modyfing the way the drone’s weapons work, letting the player to track their movement in the underground in order to find their way back easily, consumables allowing to gain temporary defensive bonuses or performing more fancy attacks.

New modules are constantly developed and implemented. The number of slots and other balancing issues are subject to change but the basic system is already there.

Fighting

Currently, players are able to try their hands in disposing enemy units with different kinds of weaponry. Space combat is very important part of Elusive Verge. The fights take place in the open space above the comet on its way towards the Earth and the core idea of it is “our spaceship vs enemy spaceships”. What the game is lacking at this stage is more diversified enemy roster and upgrades to enemy AI. We’ve already achieved the “feel” we wanted from our fighting system and now we’re on the way to make it more expanded and interesting.

Managing a Base

One of your allies resides within a modular space-station. Not only they are crucial to the story, but also provide a way to exploit many of the comet’s resources to assure your own needs are fulfilled. Among many other objectives of the game, the most important one is to make sure they are protected. To achieve this, the game gives the players the ability to attach new segments to the station. Some of them make player’s journey more easy, others are there to protect the station from enemy attacks while the player is away, and all of them require power to work. Managing all of that is another crucial part of the gameplay, and let’s be honest – base-building in space is simply cool.

Resource gathering and Exploration

None of the above would be possible without the resources. Equipped with a digging laser and a trusty radar, players are able to venture under the surface of the comet. There, a plethora of goods is waiting to be discovered and put to good use. As long as the station above them is protected and the drone’s battery is charged, the players are free to dig themselves into the insides of the comet and explore what it has to offer. Beware, though – since our drone and its allies aren’t the only inhabitants of this celestial body, caution is advised.

Similarly to the features presented above, this one is to be fleshed out yet. As of now, we are testing some cool ideas how to make the underground more interesting to explore and navigate within.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We expect the price might increase once we'll go launch 1.0, but we aren't on that stage yet to decide. We will keep you updated.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to use all available channels: discord, twitter, facebook, reddit to gather all community suggestions and ideas. We're making this game for you and we want your feedback and good ideas implemented.”

About This Game

Elusive Verge is a high-stakes blend of flight, automation, and tactical combat set above a shattered world. Transform a lone vessel into an industrial empire above a planet scarred by cataclysm—a silent world where vast automated networks once thrived.

Extract. Automate. Arm. Survive.

The beauty below masks rogue derelicts and hostile factions that treat your industry as prey.

  • Craft Your Teeth: Power isn’t bought; it’s forged. Manufacture cannons, lasers, and missiles to weaponize your drone.

  • Defense in Depth: Deploy multi-layered orbital grids to protect your logistics from raids.

Master orbital operations through three distinct layers of control.

  • Action: Direct cockpit command. Experience high-speed flight and combat through debris fields in FPV or third-person.

  • Tactical: Switch to a moon-scale view. Enter construction mode to deploy stations and orchestrate local networks.

  • Strategic: Pull back to the global map. Plan long-range supply chains and track planetary-scale threats.

Build your legacy across the stars. Conquer and harvest moons to fuel a relentless industrial sprawl.

  • Architect of the Void: Deploy refineries, assemblers, and shipyards directly in open space to create vast orbital infrastructures.

  • Colonize the Void: Claim hostile territories, turning them into bastions of resilience and ingenuity.

  • Logistics of Light: Use the HoloRail system to create holographic transport lines, turning the orbit into a clockwork machine.

  • Supply Chains: Establish inter-moon routes to combine materials and craft the ultimate arsenal.

Mining is an art of efficiency where every maneuver carries a precise operational cost. Navigate the remnants of a dead civilization to secure your future.

  • Precision Mining: Use scanners and surgical lasers to maximize yield and minimize waste.

  • Scale Without Limits: Transition from manual operations to massive, self-sustaining mining stations.

  • The High-Risk Harvest: Retrieve rare isotopes from deep fringes where piloting skills outperform expensive stations.

Power is the only currency that matters.

  • Strategic Management: Engines, lasers, and factories all draw from the same pool of Exergy.

  • The Crucial Choice: Divert power to shields for survival or to production for expansion. Every joule counts.
