Why Early Access?

“Primal Reign: The Age of New Kings has been through a slight self inflicted war, having released a tiny tech demo way back in 2019 which may have left a slight stink on the store. Skip forward to 2024 and we acquired the IP to be able to tell the story we intended. The store and name were updated and development around the edges of full time work began.

Late 2025 and I started putting far more effort and time into the game and now here we are, it's in its entirety.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I plan to remain in Early Access until the game has reached enough players and the community feels it's in a good state, I'm incredibly happy with it now the full game is playable from nose to tail.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Over time, we plan to expand Primal Reign with additional story content, locations, encounters, weapons/tools, enemy types, and progression—alongside continued improvements to AI, interaction depth, comfort/accessibility options, and performance optimisation.

We would also really like to address the voice overs and give them epic voices from some of our selected real world voice talent, the level of immersion from a story telling aspect would elevate the whole experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Early Access delivers a full playable single player action adventure with 9 large fully explorable levels, from Desert ruins into Ancient Tombs, river adventures, forests, U-boat Pens and an ancient Egyptian City.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as major content lands, but only enough to cover the planned expansion that I call the full experience.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will actively use Steam Discussions, bug reports, and player feedback to prioritise fixes and improvements—especially around comfort, controls, weapon feel, performance, difficulty, and progression. We’ll share update notes and development intentions as clearly as possible so players can see what’s changing and why.
