Why Early Access?

“TideTurn is truly an immediately playable version of a nearly finished game. We are a small indie company, so our initial Founders Release content includes two free-to-play maps, the initial version of the community MapMaker, and 10 defenders with two unique abilities each There will also be an array of skin options, all complete now.

The initial release is small, but we want people to be able to experience and enjoy the game now while we continue to develop a greater content offering. Early access player experiences and feedback will help refine and polish future releases.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“TideTurn will remain in early access until development gets to the point where we have great story mode campaigns and content, a competitive selection of multiplayer maps, and a finished MapMaker with a rich tool set that allows players to create their own playable maps.

TideTurn is a full blown underdog story, if you'll allow the analogy. We currently have an enormous amount of content in development and are moving as fast as we can to completion. Early Access will significantly benefit the TideTurn rollout till we finalize the features itemized above and wrap up these foundational development efforts.

We anticipate to be fully out of early access by January 15th, 2021.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“What players are playing now is stable and complete. This baseline game experience will remain the same in the full release version. Now, it’s a matter of providing to the early access version much more content, more challenges, more abilities, the story-mode campaigns, and a more-polished MapMaker.

The MapMaker feature will fully support players with no coding or tool skills required (such as expensive programs like Maya) to jump in, design their own level, and immediately allow others to play on it. All this will improve and become more robust by full release. Plus, with Early Access, the early version will build on lessons learned from early access players' feedback. While the game's features will become more polished and expanded in time, the Early Access version is a great taste of what’s to come. Also, Early Access is a PC release, and the full feature version will include cross play.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Our initial Founders Release content offering is two free-to-play maps, the initial version of the community MapMaker, 10 defenders, and an array of skin options. We will be in a constant state of adding more content.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No! TideTurn is and will always be a free to play game! That said, we have many plans to make sure those who join us at the beginning of our journey will feel how much we appreciate their support.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are very open and eager to listen to player feedback. We want to make sure that TideTurn grows to be something that Early Access users can be proud to be a part of from the start.

All TideTurn players are encouraged to join our community discord server to talk directly to the developers as well as share or discuss concerns, ideas, and other feedback!
We are also available to be reached out to on most other forms of Social media. We want our players to have a meaningful impact on the direction the game goes, and to have a close relationship with the developers.”

Be Like Water
