What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core of Hotel R’n’R is how to creatively approach destruction, we have several highly detailed locations and have provided a large selection of tools to make the mayhem as open ended as possible. We have a ton of things already implemented and a long list of new ideas, so it seems like a no-brainer to continue the journey with the people who will be wrecking our hotel rooms.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Somewhere between three to six months, this would really depend on the amount of interest and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We already have a full single player game with fully voiced characters, 25+ weapons, 5 intricately detailed hotels, 4 mini-games and a host of other fun and weird things to explore.

[Update] We now have 34 weapons/upgrades, a new game type, Party Mode with Global Leaderboards and pass-and-play multiplayer.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access launch is a fully featured game with varied locations, voiced narrative and a ton of items available from the outset. The potential combinations of locations, enhancers, modifiers and weapons is huge and provides us with plenty of unusual ways of play testing the hotels.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price may increase after Early Access, this all hangs on what the community think and how big the difference is between Early Access and final launch.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Community Hub will be the place for feedback, ideas and discussion; with regular dev updates and screenshots.

We may run open betas on new features and content as we’re developing as we found this to be very successful when updating a previous title, A Chair in a Room: Greenwater.”

About This Game

*Massive Early Access updates ongoing - Get the band together for Party Mode, compete with your mates through global leaderboards or pass-and-play.

You are a failed musician who makes a deal with me, the Devil. I give you musical talent, infamy and hard cash, and all you have to do is smash up some hotel rooms for me*.

Each hotel is a unique playground of things to explore, interact with and ultimately destroy. You have time to plan your attack before raising too much suspicion, but once the fireworks start be careful that the maid or hotel manager don’t get into the room.

As you build up infamy and cash, you can unlock a whole pawn shop of oddball weapons, modifiers and performance enhancers that are designed to give you many more creative ways to cause mayhem.

* T&Cs apply, one soul required, non-refundable.

Planned for launch:
  • A world tour awaits: Featuring five very different hotels, from New Mexico to Las Vegas via Tokyo, Los Angeles and London
  • Lover not a fighter: Come up with imaginative new ways of causing mayhem - your puny flesh breaks so easily
  • Pawn to die: The pawn shop and gun range has lots of items such as t-shirt cannons, glue guns and fireworks to aid in your quest to smash the (hotel) system
  • Do not disturb: Don’t let the maid, manager or security in because lawyers and resurrections can be expensive
  • Mini-games: Visit Purgatory to take on the Devil’s work in a series of mini-games based around the deadly sins
  • Idle hands: The Devil has a long list of weird challenges to keep things fresh
  • Shhh... secrets: Find safe codes, secret passages and areas that are not so obvious on initial inspection
