Why Early Access?

“We are currently working on Career (story mode) and we have a lot of ideas. However, we can't do it all on our own, we need to cut something out and we decided to do it with the community. Let's decide together! The more support we get, the better the story will be. We have a stable, playable game with unique gameplay and we don't want to waste it. There's a lot to be done, we still need better interfaces, sound effects, and animations, but in the end it's pointless if the community doesn't like it. Then why not to keep working on it with the community in the eraly access?”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Three to six months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“There is no Career mode, only Tutorial and Custom game. It means that the experience is lacking the main story part. And we want to polish the game (UI, SFX and animations).”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“It's stable and playable. We have working custom mode, local multiplayer (hot seat) and the tutorial. The game looks decent but we are still working on it.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will be raised in the process of early access. Not much, but it will.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“To create the best user experience we need users. We want to hear their voice (read their comments, there's no need to yell) and deliver to the market the game they want.
To do so we plan to be active on our community hub and we encourage everybody to use it too!”

Default Resolution Bug

We've found a bug with the default resolution on some of the PCs. Please, go to Options and set your resolution manually. If it's already set in options, then change it to another one, and set it again. Remember to apply all the changes in the options.
We've seen that a lot of users play on wrong (lower than it could be) resolution. This bug will be eliminated with the next update (05.03.2019).

1.Expedition Forecast
Basically player has 3 expeditions to choose from. It’s possible to have more choices due to the train station or other factors (random events). The forecast will deliver information about one out of three basic expeditions in advance. Depending on the difficulty the range of forecast may vary.
2.Prices Charts
Prices charts for stimulants, because the player needs to know when the Merchant Company is robbing him and Prices charts for the land market because the player needs to know how much has he (or the bot) overpaid.
3.Merchant Company Boosters
There will always be 3 boosters to choose from, and merchant company will try to personalize one of the boosters for the player and his needs.
4.Black Market - The risk of buying Artifacts
In a nutshell, it won’t be that risky like it is now. Also, all of the cheap Artifacts won’t appear on Black Market’s sales.
5.Black Market - Demand rework
We want to give every artifact at least one chance to appear on demand. Also, we don’t want cheap artifacts on the demand.
6.Generating first 5 explorers and their addictions
To balance the starting condition we want to create situation 2-2-1, which means that on start there will be always 2 explorers addicted to stimulant_1, 2 explorers addicted to stimulant_2 and 1 addicted to stimulant_3. And by 'addicted' we mean that they are very enthusiastic about certain stimulant.
7.Bugs fixes
Like always, there are bugs and we want to fix them.
Highlights: Random events (Ancient Chinese Cure and Need more coffee), launching the game in the best possible resolution, unreadable text in the low resolution
8.Property Management - Interaction with the map
Clicking on nobody’s lands or on lands of your opponent will open the brief note about the land.
9.Schedule of land auctions
The auctions will be prepared in advance and player will have the opportunity to plan next moves depending on the quality of the lands and their potential value. The auctions will be executed the same as in the current version, but the schedule will let you consider saving money for the next round.
10.Expedition Reports
Reports contain all the information about the last expedition. The player can access all reports from the current game in the lobby. It’s super important because the information about the chance of success will be there (and it probably will be 100% or 0%, because Archeo gives % chances only for a certain range of lacking skill, and for Quests with “+” there’s no rng at all). With this tool, the player can learn quicker and better how to evaluate the difficulty of expeditions.

Summary
We want to implement adjustments to the gameplay, fix bugs and solve technical issues.
We won’t deliver you the career mode (or any part of it) in the next update, but we are working around the clock to create high-quality content. After the Update#02, we will talk more about the career mode, how it works and when it’s going to be ready. The presented roadmap is the basic goal for the Update#02, and we will try to deliver you even more!

At this point, you may wonder what on Earth is this bloody project? Archeo: Shinar, because that's the full title, is a turn-based strategy video game focused on people & resources management.

It's not like other games about archeologists doing astonishing stuff in ancient tombs or something like that. No. In this game you will be the man behind the desk. Or a woman. We are talking about the lifestyle of the real archeologists, the true horror of dealing with traumas and phobias. Not yours! You won't risk your own health, we have employees to do that. The true horror of dealing with their traumas and phobias. Do you see where I'm going with it? Imagine the bills from doctors, the health compensations and the press. "Press? Why the press?" you ask. Yes, the press. Because you know the press. They are just waiting there for the unsatisfied explorer who would like to tell them how the "archeology" truly works. And we do not speak about how it truly works. They can't know the ugly truth. Never!

That's a lot of stress, right? Don't worry, as we already know, there is no better medicine for that than a cup of tea. Or a glass of gin. Your call.

Archeo: Shinar is an economic turn-based strategy set in the world of archeology. It blends the preparation period (turn-based strategy) with expeditions (real-time strategy) in unique gameplay mixup with a lot of small stories and grotesque humor.

  • Economy end bankruptcy - Last but not least, do not bankrupt. It's like permadeath. You can withhold salaries only for a certain time, after that they will come. They will come and collect.

There are in random events topics like romance, pregnancy, murder etc.
It hasn't any visual presentation, it's all in the text and it's based on suggestion.
