BARPG - Gav

To Players on Steam Deck:
Hello there! I haven't forgotten about you, and I'm working on making sure this game is fully playable to you, in the best state it possibly can. As of now, the demo should be fully playable using a controller layout I have created myself. Please follow the steps listed below to give it a shot:
  1. With the game running, open Controller Layouts in the Steam Deck menu.
  2. Select the so-called "Official Layout" in order to change it. Change tabs over to the "Community Layouts".
  3. If no community layouts show up, press the "X" button to "Show all Layouts"
  4. Select the layout uploaded by me, titled "GavLov's Steam Deck Profile".

Some Notes
  • The layout should work out of the box, somewhat as a hybrid of the gamepad controls and the Mouse Controls.
  • Button glyphs are not entirely accurate at the moment, specifically for "grabbing". By default, grabbing is handled by pressing the right trackpad, which moves the mouse. Grabbing is NOT done by using the gamepad glyph displayed on screen (LT by default). Working on handling this.
  • RT pours the bottle, with pressure dependence deciding the angle of pour. I feel this works better than trying to emulate the "bottle flipping" mechanic of Mouse gameplay with the trackpad. If you feel differently, you can certainly remap the 'Start Pour' button using the in-game controls remapping. Remapping this button to anything other than a Trigger or Analog Stick will enable bottle flipping just like the Mouse/Keyboard controls.

Please do vote on this community layout to increase its visibility, as well as leave community posts if you enjoyed/disliked the layout or have your own suggestions for its improvement! All of this will help me be able to get the game verified for steam deck usage upon launch.

Cheers Deck Users!
Oxytone - Uzjel the cat
Hi Oxytone players! This update enhances both gameplay and user experience, ensuring smoother controls and rewarding challenges. Dive back into Oxytone and experience these new features! We can't wait to show you what's coming to Oxytone! In the meantime, we're back to work on the Android version.

ːox_goldː What's New in Oxytone:
  • Trophy Filtering: You can now filter the Trophy menu to display only unachieved trophies, making it easier to track your progress!
  • Trophy Progress Tracker: See how close you are to becoming a true Oxytone master with a brand-new progress indicator for your trophies.
  • New Infinity Symbol: Before your first move, all tile changes are free! To make this clearer, we’ve added an infinity symbol at the start of every level.
  • Keyboard Controls in Pause Menu: Pausing just got smoother! You can now navigate the pause menu using keyboard controls.
  • Mouse Controls on Game Over Screen: You can finally navigate the game over screen with your mouse—no more fumbling for keys. Enjoy the convenience!
  • Enhanced Camera Controls for Mouse Users: Borrowed from our mobile version, we’ve added friction-free mouse controls for a seamless experience.
  • Pause by Mouse: You can now pause the game with a simple mouse click—another feature borrowed from the mobile version. Oxytone is fully playable with mouse, keyboard, or controller!

ːox_silverː Rebalance Changes:
  • Level Crystals-1: The scoring requirements for medals have been rebalanced. If you've already earned medals, just replay the map once to sync your trophies and unlocks.
  • Level Crystals-3: To enhance enjoyment, we’ve redesigned this map, focusing on fun over frustration!

ːox_bronzeː Bug Fixes:
  • Crash Fix (V Key): We fixed a crash that occurred when pressing the 'V' key. Though, to be fair, why were you pressing it?
  • Sound Volume Issue: The sound volume setting now works properly on startup and when re-entering the main menu.
  • Persistent Combo Music: Combo music will no longer haunt you after a game over.
  • PlayStation Controller Fixes: PlayStation controller hints were swapped—this has been corrected, so you’re good to go!
  • Screenshot mode camera fix: Now you can't broke camera in screenshot mode.
Stormworks: Build and Rescue - Geometa

Dear Stormworkers,

This update introduces two small but useful logic changes:

Variable Speed Winches

Winches now have a number input to modify their operation speed (additively with respect to the base winch speed, so that 0 input means the speed is unmodified, while -1 would reduce speed and +1 would increase speed).

Handle Output

Handles now have an on/off output to signal if a player is currently holding a handle. This change is generally useful where players can now get things to happen simply by holding a handle. This state could be used to open a door, release a connector, etc.

As well as these changes are some fixes and improvements, please see the patch notes below for details.

Last week we asked for thoughts and advice from players on how we do announcements in the future. We want to say thankyou to the many players who gave their time to help us on this. Many of the responses were very well written, obviously with a great deal of thought and some even with professional experience. We are considering your feedback and are going to think about it for a bit, potentially making changes in the coming months. Thank you for the help!

Much love <3,

The Stormworks Developers

Archaelund - DavidBVal
Archaelund is about to grow! This is a brief summary of what has been going on, and what is to come.

Development summary

In the first six months since release, I focused on polishing the existing content and mechanics. Along the way, we added a couple of new dungeons, bumped the number of completable quests from 17 to 21, and introduced many new features. You can check out the full details in the changelog.

And so, the 0.7.x development era came to an end. Long live 0.8.x!!!

What comes next?

Since summer started, I've been working on something quite more exciting: a new playable region comparable in size to the Peninsula, nearly doubling the game's current playable area. I initially planned to release it with minimal content and no level cap increase, by August or September, and then complete the content in several updates. However it quickly became clear that this approach wasn't ideal, as quests play a significant role in shaping area design. It's much better to plan and balance everything as a cohesive whole.

This shift in scope has caused some delays, but the new content should be available in Beta around October 7th (instructions to join Beta here). A week later, it should roll out for all players, and by the end of October, I'll likely make a minor release adding all the stuff that didn't make it into 0.8.1.

Certain areas of the new region will still be gated for higher-level content. In total there should be 12 new quests in the new update, and the level cap will raise to 5. Expect new items, spells, enemies, music, and art! Unfortunately, bad puns and silly humor was well.

The new content

I don't want to spoil too much, but if you've checked out the in-game world map, you'll see the next region includes the town of Urendale and the infamous Medrin Forest—a name that strikes fear into every inhabitant of the Marches! Well, except for adventurers, whose brains probably deserve some scientific study.

Please note that this update does not include a new chapter of the main quest. That will come with the next area release; although the dialogues include lore that is related to the main plot, the content itself is optional exploration.

That's all for now; I need to get back to development! Thank you so much for the fantastic support on the forums. It makes all the long hours worthwhile, knowing there are players out there enjoying the game, waiting for what comes next. Knowing you're there really makes a difference.

KIROV

To unlock her you need to find her in the city and have 1500 sweets.

Kirov sleeps and does nothing until you feed her enough, things to consider:

  • Dumpsters are scattered all over the city if you play with Kirov
  • Premium Dumpsters fill her faster
  • Shooting also contributes to it, though less than dumpsters

When she's full, she activates her RMB skill, which allows you to drop her in the city, once dropped, you cannot control her and she learns new high damage and healing skills.
You will tell she's ready because she'll shout "Kirov Reporting!"

You don't lose her RMB skill until you use it, you don't lose it by leaving to other areas or even dying, however, once you use it, you have to fill her again if you want to use it again.

If you take her to the Stygian Traverse(not that you'd want to), Premium Dumpsters have a chance to spawn, it's RNG, it can be scarse or abundant, so, toss that coin.

  • Also several bug fixes between 0.6.0 and 0.6.1
  • Added difficulty tag to Maidbots in Wagie's shop
  • Added content survey to Hex's Corner

I wanna make smaller but quicker updates and fix any bugs that appear as they come.

Coming next ILY and New Jersey, thank you for playing!

Love

-Bal
