The Classics Range features a selection of must-have products at value for money prices from the TS back catalogue.

Coming from the area where this route is set, I can say that they have got the feeling and look of it spot on. I've used on it so many times now on Train Simulator that when I visit the place in real life now...well...the add-on seems more real to me. This is partly because I remember what the route used to look like back in the late 1970s and early eighties, and class 76's used take coal up to Manchester on it.

It does lack attention to detail however. For example, the station building at Deepcar should be stone, not brick; and the tunnels at Thurgoland, again, are stone and not brick. In places, the cuttings are too shallow. Apart from this, it's a wonderfully nostalgic experience.

If you don't know the area, then let me say that it is one of the most beautiful landscapes in England, and one of the best routes you can get for TS.

Well having just spent the best part of 3 hours creating a scenario for this route only to get the "Unknown error" error. Upon trying to run the scenario I get can not find "DM Recep 1" error, even though this is a built in marker and is clearly marked on the route. Tried switching to a different marker and now get unable to find "DM Recep 4" marker, again built in. ♥♥♥♥♥♥ is not the word

One of the most scenic British Routes for Train Simulator. If you're also fan of electric traction, these class 76 DC electric locomotives are a good chalenge for driving.

Great route, a good network with plenty of options, reasonable cross section of stock and very stable in editor. The age of this addon means the framerates are good owing to the low sceanery density, it will pay to put in the effort and add some of your own trackside detailing to bring it to life, WLOS assets are a very good match for this ... the only downside is with the demise of IHH its impossible to stock the route prototypically however the stock included in the new Weardale & Teesdale Network makes a good filler, and othe ex IHH stock is now being re-released by RSC such as the class 20 so things are looking up for this route ... only the really important 506 is conspiciously missing.

Well worth the money if you are into early BR routes.

I never heard of this route, and for the longest time i put it off, but a sale changed my mind so i figured why not. I'm glad i bought it as it is by far the most interesting route in my collection. The lines history is unique, and is a bit of a head scratcher as to why it closed. But now its recreated in a classic setting depicting how operations on the Woodhead Route was in a transitional period for BR. The Class 76s are very fun to drive, and having to drive steam on the steep routes is very difficult, so it will test you. If youve been holding off on this, dont. Get it is really fun!

Out of all the routes in Train Simulator, this has gotta be one of my all time favourites!

You get tons of scenarios and locos for a very low price ($20USD).

Included in this package is:

Class 76 Electric Locomotive in BR Black

Class 08 Diesel-Electric Shunter in BR Black (Quick-Drive and Free Roam Only)

LMS 8F Steam Locomotive in BR Black

LMS Class 5 'Black Five' in BR Black (Quick-Drive Only)

MK1 Coaches in BR Crimson

16T and 21T Mineral Wagons

BR Guard's Van

UK Buildings Model Pack

Many rolling stock comes from TS2012 so you get the European Loco and Assets Pack.

PROS:

A wide range of locos and rolling stock for a low price

Lots of scenarios and free roams for hours of fun!

Beautiful scenery and landscape.

Route is electrified so you can run just about any loco on it.

CONS:

Coaches don't have a PASSENGER VIEW!

This pack has no Steam Achievements.

It took me ages to learn how to drive the class 76.

Overall, I would recommend this route to anyone who has Train Simulator!

Now this... is a fantastic route. I'd never taken much note of this infamous line before. But ever since I bought this DLC, I've been having fun all the way, both driving & looking into the history of the real route. For a start, the scenery is amazing - from the busy industrial yards around Sheffield, Manchester & Wath, to the amazing views of the Pennines & the Woodhead tunnels. It's a truly fantastic journey, especially with the loco's & rolling stock.

For a start, you get the popular Class 76 Electric's in BR Black. I actually had trouble driving these to start with, because I didn't realise you had to 'Shift Traction Modes' in the cab once you were underway & have both pantographs up - no matter where you leave from, you'll face an uphill climb to start, followed by a downhill run where you MUST apply the brakes. Trust me... after Woodhead Tunnel's on the way to Manchester, there are a lot of curves. And the Wath Line need a lot of expertise in each direction, driving both steam or electric... especially when you're hauling coal. Unfitted 21-ton hoppers? Not recommended for drivers-in-training.

Speaking of engines, you get the former-LMS 8F's & Class 08 Shunting Diesels. Now, I would like to have seen more scenarios with both of these engines (the 08's only driveable in a few 'Free Roams', and the 8F only has 1 'Standard' Scenario. But there's also one with a BR Green Class 37 & you'll see a few 'Black Fives' roaming around the route too. I suggest, if need-be, you get this route with the Robinson 04 or Thomson B1 in one of Steam's Twin Packs.

Even so, I still enjoy this route. It's a challenge to drive on, but a great journey all the same. And for the price, you can't argue with what you get - if Electrics, Heavy Goods or just trains in general are you're thing, I really recommend the Woodhead Line.

This was a nice surprise, it wasn't on my wish list but as it was only £12 I bought it. It's how I remember UK railways of yore, plenty of railway infrastructure, sidings, signal boxes, semaphore signals. Never travelled on this line so I cannot vouch for its authenticity, however if you like industrial and rural landscapes, challenging gradients, speed restrictions over complex junctions then I thoroughly recommend this route.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about purchasing this add on. Then it was on offer so I thought I'd give it a go.

It's a fantastic route, the work that's gone into the line, is superb. You can run all engines on here with it being OHL (Over Head Line) ie Electric.

Plenty of station's so if you have any Class101dmu's they fit in the scenery. Free roam is good as well, as there are lot of sidings and branch of lines to use...

Only downside at this point some of the Scenario's are not working propely, upto DTG to sort that out time will tell.

Fantastic in QD with any train...
