About This Game

In the dark days of the end of World War Two amidst the ruins of Berlin, one bullet can change history…

Sniper Elite V2 is an award-winning and authentic World War II sniping experience. You are elite US sniper Karl Fairburne. Parachuted into Berlin amidst the Germans’ final stand, your mission is to prevent Nazi V2 rocket program technology from falling into the hands of the besieging Red Army. You must aid key scientists keen to defect to the US, and terminate those who would help the Russians.

Take advantage of authentic weaponry, learn how to stalk your targets, fortify your position, set up the shot, use your skill, patience and cunning to achieve your mission. Stealth gameplay is the key as you find yourself trapped between two desperate armies in a race against time.

Watch as the celebrated ‘bullet cam’ from Sniper Elite returns, bloodier and more gruesome than ever – skilful shots are rewarded with a slow-motion flight of the bullet, then targets are graphically rendered in X-Ray as the bullet enters and destroys your victim. Organs shred, bones splinter, teeth shatter, as the true impact of the sniper’s bullet is brought to life.

As World War Two ends and the Cold War begins, every shot counts. Use it wisely.

Key features:

  • Sniping Simulation - Sniper Elite V2 features detailed sniping simulation with advanced ballistics, taking into account gravity, wind, velocity, bullet penetration, aim stability and more. Guaranteed to provide players with the most realistic simulation of military sharpshooting yet available.
  • X-Ray Kill Cam - Amazing ‘kill cam’ technology showcases what really happens when a bullet enters an enemy’s body, allowing players to see hearts and lungs tear, livers burst, and bones shatter.
  • Authenticity - The game features authentic World War II Berlin locations as well as vehicles, weapons such as the Springfield M1903 the Gewehr 43 and the Mosin-Nagant 1891/30, and uniforms modeled after the original versions.
  • Use the Environment - The slightest changes in the environment need to be taken into account to move into the perfect position, observe the quarry, take the shot and slip away unnoticed.
  • Sniper's Choice - Players will often find themselves facing a choice of the perfect shot that leaves them catastrophically exposed or a more difficult route that means they can continue their mission.
  • Multiplayer Game Types - Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Team Distance King, Distance King, Team Dogtag Harvest, Dogtag Harvest and Capture the Flag.

New Content Available For Your Game!

Since its release, Sniper Elite V2 has been continually supported by Rebellion, adding new features and content - including an additional 10 free multiplayer maps.

Four additional single-player mission packs are available for purchase, including the ultimate sniping mission - Kill Hitler. Each DLC pack also contains 2 new authentic weapons for your arsenal.

A fun but short experience. I don't think I've played anything like it before.

+Satisfying weaponry
+Satisfying kills
+Some pretty badass moments
+A decent soundtrack
+Fun yet quick DLC
-The soundtrack DOES get a bit repetitive
-A bit short

"Sniper Elite V2" is a lean, mean, nicely executed example of what it is to build a game around a single, excellent mechanic.

The game basically functions by asking the question: "Okay, we've got a guy with a scoped rifle. What are the various situations we can put him in that play into the usage of that rifle in different ways?"

And so, you get into a series of encounters that test your handling of the various tradeoffs. Keep your heart-rate down, and you can use "Focus Time" to see exactly where your bullet is going to go. That sounds great, and it is, but you won't be able to use that trick all the time. Sometimes you'll have to scope-in and pull the trigger based on just your basic reckoning, especially when the pressure builds and a lot of opponents are trying to get a piece of you.

The environments in "V2" aren't exactly enormous, but they are both generous and multi-pathed. The experience IS focused, so that the developers can guide you through various problems to solve, but there do seem to be a large number of solutions to most of those problems.

My guess is that, at least partially because of this focus, the game is very short. the developers at Rebellion play their hand, and then stop when they run out of cards. Thus, they avoid the whole problem of creating an interminable slog through doing the same thing over and over.

In terms of complaints, I only really have two.

The first is that this offering is actually something of a step down from "Nazi Zombie Army." Obviously, the setting genres are different, and "Zombie" can get away with all sorts of craziness that a period-piece can't, but "Zombie" also showed just how much variety could be created. "Sniper" doesn't do everything it could with environments and enemy types, which could have extended the game and created more "epic scale" setpieces.

My second minor gripe is that the pre-mission interface doesn't really explain itself very well. I actually got about halfway through the whole shebang before I realized that you could go edit your loadout. The "diamond" buttons just don't do the job of advertising that there's more available to you than simply starting the mission.

...but those are just little zingers in the end. "V2" does well with what it has, and doesn't overstay its welcome. I'd buy it again - and I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy "Sniper Elite 3" when I get my hands on it.

It's a sniper game with an awful sneaking mechanic. Kill cams the only possitive thing about this game.
ON top of all this, game has ADs when you start it, twice.

I just noticed that I have over 1,000 hours played of this game and till now i didn't make review so here it is...

... I didn't play this game in a while, but it's still amazing and it will be still amazing for me.
The graphic is great, the campaign is great, the weapons are great, the multiplayer is great and the multiplayer community is great too... I've never seen people in MP to be mean or something like that, but I have to say I've met with few cheaters but thats normal in every single game.... They're basically everywhere.

I have this game since I've created this account (it was my first game ever on Steam) and the most of my Steam friends I have thanks to this game and they all are great friends.

I personally love it for the atmosphere in single-player. And I still love kill-cams...

I did not mastered the game, so no long review there.

Multiplayer is sometimes a disadvantage because of hacks and it is too often more boring than playing chess. But you may consider playing multiplayer with friends.

They recently updated this game, so now it has a launcher with ads in it, and crashes at startup. Exactly what I paid for.

The plot is painfully stupid. Game teaches you that backstabbing your allies is okay even if they already have a rocket technology (BM-13). The AI is stupid, music is awful and maps are just boring brown corridors.
