About This Game

The last remaining memories fade away into darkness. Your mind is a mess and only a feeling of being hunted remains. You must escape.
Awake...
Amnesia: The Dark Descent, a first person survival horror. A game about immersion, discovery and living through a nightmare. An experience that will chill you to the core.
You stumble through the narrow corridors as the distant cry is heard.
It is getting closer.
Explore...
Amnesia: The Dark Descent puts you in the shoes of Daniel as he wakes up in a desolate castle, barely remembering anything about his past. Exploring the eerie pathways, you must also take part of Daniel's troubled memories. The horror does not only come from the outside, but from the inside as well. A disturbing odyssey into the dark corners of the human mind awaits.
A sound of dragging feet? Or is your mind playing tricks on you?
Experience...
By using a fully physically simulated world, cutting edge 3D graphics and a dynamic sound system, the game pulls no punches when trying to immerse you. Once the game starts, you will be in control from the beginning to the end. There are no cut-scenes or time-jumps, whatever happens will happen to you first hand.
Something emerges out of the darkness. It's approaching. Fast.
Survive...
Amnesia: The Dark Descent throws you headfirst into a dangerous world where danger can lurk behind every corner. Your only means of defense are hiding, running or using your wits.
Do you have what it takes to survive?

Pros: Not scary when there's no monsters nearby.

Cons: There's monsters everywhere.

-Recipe for playing this game-

Ingredients:
- 1 cozy blanket (2 is also good)
- 1 computer or laptop
- 1 installed Amnesia game
- 2 nice chairs
- 1 Dark room
- 1 willing boyfriend who has experience with the game
- 1 pillow or stuffed animal to hug (or the arm of the boyfriend, but he might disagree about that when he got puncture wounds from your nails after the first jumpscare)

Directions:

1. Start up the computer, it may take a while depending on how good your system is. Use the startup time to go on a treasure hunt for the other ingredients. Also make sure that the room is dark enough.

2. Persuade your boyfriend to play Amnesia. It could be that he declines, if so, capture him with a Pokéball.

3. Wrap yourself and the boyfriend in a blanket and sit in the chairs in front of the Computer.

4. Now it's safe to start Amnesia, make sure you keep your distance.

5. Let the boyfriend play it, specially when he is experienced with the game, just sit back and ask silly questions which he probably already gave the answer to but you were too spooked to listen.

6. Enjoy!

I'm not fan of quests or horrors, but played this game with a great pleasure. Demo that features athmosphere and gameplay basics is available, so you can try it before purchase.

The only person who is not naked in this game is you. 10/10 would stand on a pile of dead naked men again.

Amnesia, or the rebirth of a genre which was in agony recently: The survival horror. The stage is mastered, the game is beautiful, terrifying and stressful.
However, Amnesia remains a good survival horror first person view, highly recommended having regard to the quality of the whole and his selling price more than reasonable.

I enjoyed this game a lot! For the right atmosphere it is utterly important that you play it with headphones on in a totally dark room. If you don't, you are missing out. Recommended for all fans of the horror genre.

Great game. The only things I did not like about it was the monster just seems too scripted. And after the first few incounters the horror kinda goes away. But still a verry intense game and the story was verry well layed out. And the custom storys kept me coming back.

Someone bought this game for me specifically because they knew it would scare the ♥♥♥♥ out of me, and they were right. I've tried so many times to play this game in ways where I wasn't terrified of everything, but it just doesn't work that way. Play this game with a good set of speakers and/or high quality headphones, and you're in for some good ol' fashioned misery. I'd say it's worth the money, but I didn't even buy it, and I haven't made it very far in terms of progression. I'm sure it's worth the money though.

Fun ♥♥♥♥ is fun. This game basically sparked interest of Indie horror games, which are extremely common today, with games like Outlast, Slender Games, and much much more. I will review this game in some kind of organised way for you picky buggers out there.

Story: The story is simple, but quite interesting. You play a man named daniel, who woke up in a creepy castle called Brendan Burg Castle (Or something like that) and have amnesia and must remember who you are. Though while on the journey of remembering you rather dark future, you are followed by creepy mutant things called "Shadows" who are everything but pleasent. I like the story, it keeps you wanting to know more about your character and trust me, Daniel does not have the most pleasent past.

Gameplay: This game is really just a off the rails point-and-click first person game. There is no combat, which is what makes it "Survival horror" survival makes sense, but "Horror" I would say is quite loose. The gameplay is to be honest, boring and repetitive, making amnesia good in small doses. What makes the gameplay any good though, is the, to be honest, hilarious physics system. In this game you can pick up any item and walk around with it, throw chairs, books, beer bottles, anything around that you feel like throwin. This is VERY funny when a monster is chasing you and your throwing books at the monster, just ♥♥♥♥ing it off.

Graphics: Who cares about graphics, why is this here?

Sound: Eh there is not much here. The music is some what chilling, though its not saupose to be pleasent. The thing I loved most about the sound was the sound of books or chairs hitting was when you throw em, or when you drag them across the floor.

Overall: Amnesia is good fun and worth checking out if you got the 15 or so bucks to buy it. It is in no way a bad game but its not for everyone, it is honestly quite boring at times with nothing driving it but the story or "Spooky" sounds in the background. And if you want a scary game folks, this is NOT the game for you so save your money and go buy a REAL horror game.

If your a gamer who wants to try something new get this game, I am not stopping you, you might enjoy it but like I said its not for everyone.

I give it a 7/10

I love this game. The game is a very good looking game but also has a good atmosphere. Also, the game has custom stories. So you can play other peoples levels.
