Here's a minor patch for you guys, thanks for the feedback about the Steam offline mode bugs:
-fixed bug where all characters were not selectable when Steam is offline
-made unlocked characters available offline
-fixed the start timer going 2x as fast when you disconnect from a high ping match and get a new match
-fixed bug where your character was deselected when joining an invitational match
-added option in Graphics menu for mouse players to enable the gamepad's laser pointer for aiming
-nerfed Polly's rocket blast knockback a bit
-possibly fixed Dodgebot's issue where he gets stuck trying to pick up a ball when he's full on balls
-updated dodgebot's info slides
Peter and I went through our plans, organized our features, and picked out tentative release dates for our patches. We have a tidy view of them on the website: http:www.pixelvex.com/development
They are ALL subject to change, so don't expect these dates to be exact. Since this is an effort done in our free time, we thought making public development plans with tentative deadlines would be the best way to keep ourselves on track, and keep you in the loop.
Also, these are only the bigger patches that add content. We will be patching bugs and balance issues ASAP as they are discovered in between these patches. Also also wik, the content of the patches is malleable. It can be changed if it turns out everyone hates something in particular, or feels the game is incomplete without a certain feature. So give us some feedback!
Anyway enough disclaimers, here's the rundown:
Update 1: Map Select Rework, 6/29
We're going to do some redesign on the map select screen, so that match options are more visible. This is to make way for the new mach options we will be adding, and the special modes we will be adding.
Update 2: Optimization, 7/20
I haven't done a great job recycling game objects and preloading them, so I'm going to do some work on that to make the game run a little smoother on older machines.
Update 3: New Map, 7/27
Gonna add a new map here, will let you know when we have some prototypes to show
Update 4: Another New Map, 8/17
And another new map. We are thinking a total of 5 maps for the full release right now.
Update 5: Online Update, 9/8
We will be adding some quality of life things for online matches, and allow unranked matches to change all game settings (stock, game mode, the level, etc). This is just for Unofficial matches, so not the ranked queue, just the matches you invite a steam friend to or give out a lobby code for. The Host, or person doing the inviting, will be the one able to adjust settings.
Update 6: Misc Graphics Update, 10/6
We are always finding small graphics tweaks we want to make. We will be putting any new ones on the backburner until this update, where we will implement a bunch of them at once.
Update 7: Full Release! 11/16
The full release will add some secret updates, including:
-a big secret
We would like to keep our release date of 11/16 intact if possible. So this last update may be put off until after release, if we find that we are running out of time. We plan to keep developing after release either way, if there is still interest in the game.
