Early Access Software

Get involved with this software as it develops.

Note: This Early Access software is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to use this software in its current state, then you should wait to see if it progresses further in development. Learn more

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While basic functionality is already in place, we need feedback from you to optimize the user experience of our software. Our main goal is, to create a software which is user-friendly & simple and at the same time complex & accurate. We also want to collect new ideas for brushes and tools.

If you want to have an impact on our software, do not hesitate to write us an e-mail or contact us via Twitter.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“VoxVR will be in Early Access as long it feels incomplete, has missing features or is just not polished enough. That could take from a few months to a year.
Please note that there are multiple people working on this project, but none of them full-time.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full release, VoxVR will be a polished software which can be used to create beautiful voxel models in a short time.
We want to provide multiple brushes and tools which help in creating complex voxel structures.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In the current state of the Early Access version you are able to create voxel models using different brushes. With a few clicks you can export your creation to other voxel editors and mesh files.

To always know about the newest changes, follow us on Twitter or have a look at the VoxVR dev-blog on our website.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price of the Early Access version is lower than the one of the full version.
VoxVR is currently not a finished product, so it should not cost as much as one.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“To be always up to date on new changes and updates, check out the dev-blog of VoxVR on our website.

If you have ideas, feature requests or something else do not hesitate to write us an e-mail or contact us via Twitter.”

VoxVR Update - Version 1.0.4 & Devblog #5

Preamble
Thanks to all our closed alpha testers! You've provided us with lots of feedback, and as you can see in the changelog below, we already implemented quite a few of your suggestions. Please fill in the form again after testing this update. Thank you!!
Lots of things have changed since the last update and we are now very close to release.

VoxVR Viewer - Announcement
VoxVR Viewer will release together with VoxVR as a separate application. VoxVR viewer allows you to view voxel models you have made with voxel-software like Magica Voxel, Qubicle or VoxVR in Virtual Reality. It's basically a lite version of VoxVR, which just doesn’t allow placing voxels. And I didn't mention the best part yet: It will be free.

About This Software

VoxVR is a creative tool that lets you create 3D models using small blocks in virtual reality.

VoxVR is a creative tool that allows you to create 3D models using cubes in virtual reality. Creating voxel art has never been more intuitive and easier! Stand in your own artwork while creating it or edit your existing creations by importing existing voxel files (.vox, .qb, and more) to view them from a whole new perspective. This software offers artists and gamers lots of fun by providing an entertaining and easy to use VR-workspace with a professional toolset.

Please keep in mind, that VoxVR is still in early access. Anything could change and is still in active development.

For Gamers

Build everything you can imagine. From characters and pixel-art to vehicles and buildings. It is a lot easier and so much more fun to build 3D objects in 3D space than on a 2D screen.
Share you creations with your friends and get new models from the Steam Workshop.

For Artists

VoxVR ist perfect for voxel artists because of the physical environment, that lets you place voxels precisely and fast, in combination with our on productivity optimized tools. We also want to offer you as much compatibility to traditional programs as possible. That is why VoxVR already supports the import and export of Magica Voxel (.vox) and Qubicle (.qb) files, as well as export to common 3D model files like .obj.
You can use different brushes of variable size, which where created on the request of a artists using VoxVR, to sculpt your model.

Currently supported import formats:
  • .vox (Magica Voxel)
  • .qb (Qubicle)
  • .png (Image)
