Island Warfare

Ships, Changing Sea Conditions and a New World Map
Island Warfare

  • New 'Island Warfare' game world with changing sea conditions
  • Movement between islands effected by tail winds, rough seas, violent storms and more!
  • Battle across 38 islands, 18 provinces and 99 counties.

Turn the oceans red by waging war across 38 tropical islands with new, changing sea conditions! Players must fight for a single kingly throne avoiding rough seas and the occasional hurricane as they attack, scout and trade across a medieval archipelago.

Conditions change daily with tail winds, rough seas and violent storms either slowing or accelerating the progress of attacks, trade ships and scouting parties as they move between islands. Attacking forces may catch a strong tailwind and obliterate their enemies in the blink of an eye. Traders can double their earnings in a single day by all casting off while conditions are favorable. Scouts on the other hand could be so heavily delayed by storms at sea that, upon returning home, find their actions have sparked a conflict that has destroyed their home!

Old strategies, routines and timed attacks will be rethought as players adjust to the changing pace of this new game world and fight for control of the high seas. Lords must plan ahead to discover new tactics to take and hold individual islands, with control of the seas decided to some extent by the strategic positions taken at this early stage in the game world. Remember that sea conditions are distinct from existing in-game weather events and won't influence village popularity, with their effects limited to movement speed.

Please Note: To join the new 'Island Warfare' game world players will need to log in, click on the red 'Select Special Worlds' button followed by 'Island Warfare 1'.

About This Game

Live the life of a medieval lord in Stronghold Kingdoms, the world’s first persistent castle MMO. A unique PC Strategy game, Stronghold Kingdoms brings together online interactivity and community, with a richly-depicted medieval world and thousands of real world players.

Besiege the castle that’s never been taken, overthrow ruthless tyrants, bankroll your faction’s war effort, pillage your neighbour’s resources, peacefully raise cattle or do it all! A range of stats, rankings and achievements gives every player something to aim for, from ‘Banquet King’ and ‘Peacebringer’ to 'Besieger of the Month' and ‘Lionheart'! Factions, elections, liege lords and their vassals all provide a real sense of structured community, with many different ways to chat with other players, discuss strategies and build allegiances.

While an impregnable castle should be at the heart of any lord or lady's domain, you can also specialise with a vast research tree. Starting as a humble peasant, each promotion brings with it valuable research points to spend on trading, diplomacy, warfare, farming, religion and more. Be aware though, as your power grows so does your responsibility. Your vassals and parishioners will look to you for guidance and leadership. You may find yourself fighting for the crown itself!

  • Build Your Online Stronghold - Crush the invading hordes with impenetrable castle defences. Then launch a counterattack!
  • Plot the Perfect Village - Plan your village layout, arrange buildings for maximum productivity and watch it come to life.
  • Explore a Vast Research Tree - Are you a farmer, trader, diplomat or warlord? Research new technology to specialise and gain the edge.
  • Fight For Your Faction - Join a faction, attack its enemies and return triumphant with their captured banners!
  • Play for Free! - Stronghold Kingdoms is free to play with no subscription or upfront payment required.

After almost 3000 Hours i can say this game was good shortly after the launch. But it went more and more into the pay2win area. They released more and stronger cards the whole time. I quit the game because i just couldnt afford the amount of cards i need to keep up with the other strong players anymore.

The worst of it it's to think that it could be an excelent strategy game, taking the genre to a whole new level in terms of multiplayer but turned out to be a superb idea extremely poorly executed (and I find hard not to swear saying this).
I've always been a fan of the franchise having purchased all the other titles but sadly, this game is one big piece of disapointment, and it's the second time I try to like it, but I just can't.
Think of this game as a wife you give lots of time and stuff and when you think everything is doing good, all h*ll breaks loose and she elopes with a rich guy, taking everything with her, of course.
To make it short: an absurd waste of time and money (if you are dumb enough for both).
