I genuinley enjoy playing this game casually and I like how it's a "beatable" game. I'm a horsey person in real life and have sunk a lot of time and money into the online game Howrse around 5 years ago. This is a really casual game that you can pick up and put down whenever. Nice to kill time for 10-15 minutes. I'll pick up the multiplayer DLC in the next sale for sure!

I'd like to start off by saying that I've actually beaten this game.
Second, I should note that I'm a horse person. I've been riding hunt-seat for quite a few years now, and consider myself fairly well-versed in equine knowledge. But you don't need a lick of knowledge to play this game.

You got this game from a friend, didn't you? Probably during the Winter or Summer sale. Because no one in their right mind would buy this game for themself, unless it was to occupy a seven year-old for a while.
But whatever. It's in your library now. And if you want to 100% it, you have to beat it. And to beat it you need five level 5 horses of each different breed.
The objective of the game is straightforward. Get the magic crystals. It took me about 20 hours to accomplish this, but I bet it could be done faster.
The game is simple. Buy a horse, wait for it to be an adult, train it to max, breed it, sell it, rinse and repeat. It just takes a very, very long time since you can't breed a level 5 horse with another horse.
Each level 5 horse requires sixteen level 2 horses, eight level 3s, and four level 4s. All of which need to be trained fully. Each training segment is a simple DDR-ish sequence that takes maybe a minute and a half each time. You have to train a horse six times for it to be fully trained.
And you have to do this with every. Single. Horse.
Obviously, this is a good game to play while watching Netflix or YouTube on a second monitor or something. There's quite a bit of waiting involved, so if you want to catch up on a series while you play, this is the best game to do so in.

Some things you should know about the game:
- save files don't transfer from computer to computer
- there's a crap ton of Engrish in this game
- the game will pause if you click out of the window

But, I suppose it all comes down to this: Did I have fun playing it?
And to that I say: Yeah, I guess. Give this to your young siblings and let them have fun with it.

Some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ gave me this game as a joke but jokes on him I met the love of my life, took care of her when she needed me, forced her to fornicate and produce offspring for my own twisted pleasure, and then sold her off and used to proceeds to buy a new love and start all over.

I need help.

I have finally fulfilled my blood contract. Do not buy this game unless you wish to be forced into what cannot be undone. Flee while you still can.

Do not buy this game for yourself. Buy it for that guy you have a raging hate-on for but can't confront directly. Make sure your gift message includes disparaging comments about how inadequate his skills are for the task of raising the ultimate magical pony. Study his weaknesses in advance so you know how to effectively goad him into installing and running this glimpse into Pony Hell. Know that every second he spends in the game is a second when your life is better than his, even if you are undergoing a root canal at the time. Rejoice.

It's like Dark Souls, but more difficult. And with ponies.

I am surprised that this game is not rated Mature, because there is a LOT of horsey snu snu.

Do not play this game unless you are ready for a true challenge!!!!!

This game has everything needed in a successful video game: love, drama, comedy, action...

It truly has transcended our generation's understanding of what makes a video game. This is something more; this is the quintessence of artistry in a digital medium. There are little words to express the absolute majesty of this game, from the cutting edge graphical quality to the intricate character detail with every well-purposed polygon to shape a beautiful beast on the screen.

This video game will no doubt continue on for generations to be remembered as one of the art masterpieces of the 21st century, much like the works of William Shakespeare, Vincent Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Stephanie Meyer, and J. K. Rowling.

Truly the capability to own such a game for the price of $4.99 is a steal, but if you manage to acquire it at its sale price of $0.99, you should be reported for theft for even attempting to get away with such a heinous crime.

Truly, in short, this game is no doubt underappreciated, as it is ahead of its time. Aptly said, this game is like Batman: it's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. Perhaps in a world where chauvinist bigotry is not the societal norm, we can all learn to appreciate this game for its truly artistic nature.

I love this game. It's not very involved, until you get to breeding and then you need a ton of coins, which means you have to race, which means you have to train, then you upgrade your well and do it over and over and over again. But it's quite fun!

I spent 2 hours on this game. It was great. At first, It was a joke by my brother. But I enjoyed it. Then after a while, I played it again... Though the problem was that there wasn't a tutorial again. Also, I couldn't reset.

Play this if you're not ever going to play it more than once.

I regret my purchase of this game. I adore games with genetics and breeding- I love everything about this. I despise this game. It's a click and wait game, not better than a Facebook game, and not worth any of money spent on it. It gives you little direction or tutorial and I've yet to figure out how to do anything.

Maybe I'm just bad at playing this game, but I would not recommend it to anyone but people looking for a game to play while they're at work to kill time between meetings or paperwork.

Secret of the Magic Crystals is a horse breeding simulator created by Artery Games company. I picked this game to review since I was expecting a unique combination of features but was unfortunately disappointed. The game is more suited for kids rather than adults, although depending on how much you like horses, it might be interesting to play.

The plot essentially is about some meteorites that fell through the sky, your grandfather discovered pieces but was not taken seriously and you, as the grandson must prove to the world that your grandfather was right and use those pieces to breed different horses. Now you might be wondering what the hell do meteorites have to do with horses, the plot makes no sense, in which case you would be right.

You essentially start with a horse which grows right away to the mature stage and can be trained in a building. The game essentially is composed of a sort of simulator interface where you can pick between different locations, such as infirmary, blacksmith, training location, quest area and so on. It all sounds amazing until you realize how simplistic it really is. Each of those buildings serves a different purpose but unfortunately fails short of the expectations. In the stable for instance you can buy objects to improve horses’ stats and brush your horse. In case you wonder what is the point of brushing your horse, I have no clue even after 18h of gameplay.

The area where the game really shines is the graphics and the sound. The sound used in the game during races and in the simulation interface is amazing and the graphics look really pretty on ultra. Unfortunately, the area where the game fails to deliver is everywhere else. The training area is essentially a sort of slow guitar hero mini game where arrows arrive above your horse’s head and you must press the button in order to get it right. Somehow even while getting all arrows right, the score seems to be quite random and you can never get 100% even if you get all signs right. The next area where the game fails to deliver is the quests. The quests are essentially one or two sentences where you wait.

The last issue that I personally had with the game was the fact it was extremely tedious and consisted of grinding mostly. For instance, in order to level horses, you have to breed them often. The way the system works in this game is basically the breeding of the same level horses instead of actually leveling them, so a level 1 and another level 1 will create a lvl 2, two lvl 2 will create a lvl 3 and so on. The charm essentially wears off after you created your first level 3 horse and then it just becomes extremely annoying.

Overall, I was not really impressed with the gameplay in the Secret of the Magic Crystals and I cannot recommend this game unless it is for a kid, but even then there are a lot better choices out there in terms of games. The game gets a 6/10 from me, so it could be worth if you get it at 75% off.

Uh yeah I idled this for the cards, got it free from somewhere.

So to make up for the guilt of making 10p from selling some imaginary cards i'll make up a good one... or one worth 10p. Here goes....

THIS GAME IS TOTALLY AMA... I can't do it, I asked my 3 year old daughter what she thought of it and she said "Why the hell is this in your Steam Library?"

I'll end this with the following:

Thanks for the free Steam Cards Artery games.
