Language Support & Achievements Fixed!

Hey!

Uhh- I've never had to write a patch update before but uh,
I guess I could give it a shot!

So the people over in Exports said that something went wrong with the last update and it broke achievements - but they say that it should be fixed now so, that sounds like good news?

As for Frank (who's been working by himself in P&L for the past 3 weeks) - he says that language support is now in for...

Swedish, French, German, Russian, Romanian- uhhh
Italian? Polish? uhh- Turkish and... Spanish! Spanish.

Oh and he wanted me to say a big thank you to all of the translators who kept working throughout the strike.

Anyway! I best be off! I've done my job here!

So yeah I guess, uhh...

Thanks for waiting and sorry for it taking so long!

Have a nice day now!

- Alice

About This Game

It’s the hottest summer on record, and all across Europe, valuable objects are disappearing.

Museum curators unlock cabinets and find precious artefacts stolen. Wealthy mansion owners wake up to see their priceless paintings have vanished from the walls.

One thing’s clear: a master thief is touring the continent and the police are left scratching their heads.

In this 15 minute game by Crows Crows Crows, a team led by William Pugh (The Stanley Parable), slip into the soft-soled shoes of the mastermind responsible…

… silently cross the darkened lawn of the mansion…

… hold tight to the tranquiliser gun in your pocket, and commit the most audacious heis--

oh god I can’t do this any more, i’m joining the strike. i didn’t want to - i honestly didn’t want to, but it’s gone too far

i’m supposed to be writing the steam store description and that’s it, that’s my job, but because of the understaffing i’ve been told i need to work in the lighting department too and it’s only a matter of time before i’m re-assigned to wildlife preparation

and everybody knows that working for wildlife preparation is mostly about trying very hard not to be eaten by the tiger

so that’s it, i’m joining the picket. if they want somebody else to finish the description, that’s their problem

i’m out.

A free game with quality. Similar to Stanley Parable, which also boast an amazing voice acting and script. Get this one and try it. It is free anyway. I wish this game is longer.

Overview:
Dr. Langeskov, The tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist is an amazing short indie game. It takes you on a small adventure, behind the scenes of a "game". As you would expect from a William Pugh directed game, it had a comical script, which accompanied the amazing atmosphere quite pleasantly. The achievements provide a bit more replayability, with challenges such as collecting all the pretzels or turning off all the lights.

═══════════════════════════════════
Positives:
☆Comical script.
☆Amazing Atmosphere.
☆Heap of achievements.

Negatives:
☆None.

═══════════════════════════════════
Summary:
Overall, I had no regrets playing this amazing game and would gladly purchase a longer form of this game or simply donate. My time well spent with a humorous ending!

There is no reason not to play this game, it is really good but doesn't take too long to complete (although it DOES have replay value), and it will get a laugh or two out of you. Completely free on top of all that.

Some helpful tips:

You can drop a chandelier on a guard near the elevator.
The escape car is really fragile, be careful.
If you find some guard patrol plans, you can change them (my favourite is to make them run around a lake)
Grappling hooks are fun but occasionally impractical.
The tranquiliser gun is almost OP.
The tiger is LETHAL. Not being eaten is virtually impossible ._.
The Orangery has an orange you can steal for an achievement
The actual vault itself is very time-consuming to get through.
Don't be distracted by the pretty effects (lightning, rain, etc.).
The difficulty spike in the mansion (or as much of one as there can be in half an hour of gameplay) is easy to get past if you have the right tools.
Thief-vision really isn't all that helpful.
For the "first five francs" achievement, you need to get it in loose change for the achievement to work (stealing the equivalent of five francs doesn't work). Using some of that loose change on a vending machine stops you from getting that achievement.
If you stop and listen very carefully in the elevator without hitting the "down" button, you can occasionally hear someone talking/walking around. Don't worry, they aren't a guard and they have no impact on your gameplay.
The hardest part about the achievement "In the shadows" is that it considers desk lamps to be lights. You have to make sure you personally deactivate them, even though one starts deactivated and you have to turn it on and off again.

This is a fun little heist game, I enjoyed it, the storytelling reminded me of The Stanley Parable a little bit.

"Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist" is a pretty funny game; "Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist" is a game with a cool story. "Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist" also has a lot of fourth wall breaking. I like "Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist" for that reason specifically. "Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist"'s name, "Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist", also has a pretty long name, too.

My brain was crushed in this 15 game minutes!

If you like walking simulators, to come up with the plot from some "light" hints, to read (strange things), and to seek different thingies (pretzels and coins) - then the game is worth your time. Even more - it's worth a couple replays if you want to get all achievements. Otherwise please pass by. The next player, please, yes, yes, it is you!

The bad thing - you can't control the volume. It's uncomfortable. But the voice acting is REALLY GREAT. But if you value your nerves DO NOT TAKE THE MUSIC PLAYER, or do not insert cassettes at least - you won't be able to drop this hell thing, and won't be able to make it stop talking. Yes, again, voices are good (seems Gary Oldman is Dr. Langeskov), and the idea is excellent, but all this is TOO LOUD.

...I will continue to (re)play in a few days. I need to rest because of this untimely tiger.

My short review for 'Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist'

First Play-through: I'm going on an Heist! (Heist didn't happen because another player started the game)

Second Play-through: Still no Heist because a player joined, but there was coins to collect until player finished.

Third Play-through: Player died during Heist so it was finally my turn to do a Heist. Finally!

Forth Play-through: Stole a car and smashed into a vault but player called elevator and guards came, I died.

Fifth Play-through: Stopped another player from stealing my car with the cash.

10/10 - Would replay again.

FAR too expensive. VERY long. No humor whatsoever. Confusing plot. Terrible controls. Runs like crap on every computer you can think of.

Hopefully you\'ve picked up by now that this must be a bizarro review, since none of that is true. Why are you reading this and not playing??

A short, and by short I mean SHORT, little free game made by Crows, Crows, Crows. The person who runs that also created The Stanley Parable...

Need I say more? (But actually it\'s a great game that I would recommend downloading.)
