Better than WoW guilds.


You buy a house and some slaves that get materials and craft a bunch of ♥♥♥♥, ship it to the market as you run down to the market to get some more materials but get slapped by some random woman you offended somehow. Take it to court and be massive wimp and they'll execute her so you can steal her position as a Jailor and randomly jail people and send them to the dungeon where they get whipped until they confess something. I dont remember if it worked on kids but i remember trying.

You'll atleast spend like 1-3 hours on this. I got it for free so I dont have alot to complain about. It's really strange and hard to understand in some way but If i spent more time with this I'd probably be able to explain better.

EDIT: It is buggy as hell too, mechanically its not impressive but its an interesting mix between shop management or something like that and some Sims elements. It's also a very difficult game in a sense, if it's on sale consider atleast if this is something you'd like to try out. Consider heavily though, as its still not an amazing game.

This is an interesting game. You can Manage a business or 4, Make LOADZA MONEY! You can get married, have kids, get into Politics, get higher and higher in the Governmental Offices until you reach "King" or Governor/Mayor/Baron or whatever the Top Spot is called. And if you play your cards right you can get your whole family into office and Take COMPLETE control over the town you're in. Each seat in office offers a lump sum as payment every round I'm guessing the higher the office the more MONEY you get and if your whole family is in control... Pff forget about it. Along with your businesses... That's ... a lot of doe. ]:) and you'll have Rival Family's in the town. And if they piss you off for any reason you can (if you so choose) Charge them for some crime they've committed and have them executed >:) or i guess you can develop an alliance with them if they complement your business. This is a fun game.
But be warned their are... a couple bugs in it, wired animations, occasional German dialog hear and their (theirs English text so its not.. TO bad i guess. But if you can see past that its a fun game that has hours of entertainment value. (if your into these kinds of games) but if you don't really like to many bugs you can always buy it on a sale or something :)

I started playing with The Guild: 1400, which I'd seen at a local thrift shop and thought looked interesting. I quite liked it, so I bought the sequel: The Guild II.

I'd have to say that it generally lives up to the original. It's very similar gameplay, although the changes, especially to the UI, can take some getting used to, if you're coming from 1400. The graphics are, of course, markedly improved.

Worth the money if you liked 1400. Probably worth the money if you like these kinds of games. I liked it, anyway.

This game is weird..
I hate it, but cant stop playing once i started a new dynasty..
weird controls, buggy from time to time, but some very interessting mechanics

If you like trading/simulation/medieval, worth a shot!

I first got this game when it came out in 2006. My dad almost didn't let me play it when we saw the opening cinematic because of the beheading scene. Naturally I quickly fell in love with this game. It is charming, the execution of the mechanics are GREAT, and as for the simulation style... well I have more hours logged on this than I do the Sims 2 and 3 combined. IT IS AMAZING! The fights, the murder, taking over a government and wiping out the local populace, destroying the economy etc, its just so much fun. Yes, the graphics are rather dated but it was made in 2006. You will have trouble playing on newer computers but that is not the game's fault it is your computer. I personally have no trouble on my Windows 8.1 and have 30+ hours logged on this version alone. The original disc version game I have more than 1000+ hours logged and I look forward to many more on this. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GAME TO ANY SIMS PLAYER!

As fun as this game is, it does have many bugs, and gives the feeling that it is unfinished, possibly even rushed.
It does have many strong points though, and I strongly suggest getting it, especially if it's on sale.

Overall, I rate this game (according to the new Video Games Ranking System) 2.5 Guys out of Five.

Great game, a little buggy at times. At first i played quit a little bit of this game and thought "wow that was fun" then i wondered what the expantions were about (because i bought the the guild PACK) renaissance is the same game... whith more stuff in it.
How ever the entire pack is a great, buying this alone is just dumd. but fun its a fun game

Appealing at first in concept, and neat in execution, until you get hit with all the bugs, crashes, and corruptions this game series can throw at you. I liked the game when it worked, but it primarily did not work and would be extremely frustrating when you put in a large amount of time only to have the game's poor programming destroy your work.

10/10 would kill other families again.

DON'T BUY!!! More bugs than a wenches blanket.

This game has the potential to be an absolute classic. I bought a hard copy years ago and loved it... At first but then the bugs began to show, frustrating game breaking bugs. Having to re-load the entire game every few minutes to continue playing.
Seeing it on steam years later I bought it thinking "steam would have made them fix it surely" nope.
Having played the game on three different systems over the years I can tell you the bugs are persistant and the devs have abandoned it completely in spite of still making money from it.

Shame on steam for selling this broken game.

wall of beginner is high, so NEWBIE can't adapt easily
but game's deep of free is good like G.T.A.
so I suggest if you wanna play this game, you should search some tips to adapt easily.



totally good! but hard to play at first time!

Don't let the Metascore fool you, this game plays better than its rating. This game is great for those who enjoy business and life sims, plus it's in the medieval times. I became addicted to this game because of its political mechanics, and how you rival other dynasties through out time (Through business trade, political regard, and even combat). I have played too many hours on the Guild 2 and the others in the bundle, and I'm always finding out new ways to do things. Does it have bugs? Yes. Is it pretty behind in terms of graphics? Yes. But to me, it's a really good game that I can spend 10 hours on in a row and not get tired of it. If you feel iffy about the game, then just get it when it's on sale. However, I highly recommend this game and The Guild 2: Renaissance and would say they are worth their standard price.

A dude from a rival dynasty killed my daughter. I went to the courts with evidence of this. On the day of the trial thugs beat me up and almost made me late. On arrival I found out all the jurors were of that same rival dynasty. They promptly declared the murderer innocent and made me pay a fine for wasting the court's time.

After Starting as a rouge and pillaging caravans, kidnapping people, breaking into houses, pick pocketing random people and burning down rivals buildings for sh**s and giggles i learned a valuable lesson ..

The court's are rigged cause i did absolutely none of the above.

Would/Will terrorize the countryside again.

This game is so underrated. If you google The Guild 2, you will be overwhelmed with negative comments about the buggy release. Most of these issues have been fixed, and the game is definitely playable. If you want to play multiplayer though, you will have to download some 3rd party software, as the multiplayer servers have been closed. Would reccomend.

Jesus. Make your own merchantile empire, become a king, become a crimelord, be a simple farmer. you can do ANYTHING. there are so many things to do in this game you'll never finish learning how to move around this vast world. that might be a problem in the beginning, but once you learn the basic, the fun never stops.
The UI is very easy to read. you'll know what every button does in no time and will have complete control over your character's actions.
The music and voices are simple yet memorable. it helps the atmosphere a lot.
It's totally worth the prize. very nice game.

It has a learning curve. It REALLY has a learning curve.
But there's a ton of depth in this game. And if you're a fan of the Sims, Majesty, or both, you might enjoy this. It's difficult at times, but fun for fans of simulation games and medieval settings.

Once the game started I imediately kissed the first random woman I could see, she then complimented me on my kissing skills and then took out a knife and started randomly fighting a guy in the streets.
