In an endless air ocean of an alien world, small lonesome plots of land float above the abyss. But sometimes approach each other, and lands which have never met before, reveal their secrets.

Don't buy this game... why?
"Unique picture to every location" from the store page is kinda not true at all some locations repeat.
In the game it has a themes tab in the settings you can’t use any of the themes. (i'm assuming the game is made in a game maker tool). if you sift tab into the steam overlay it will get stuck there so youll need to restart the game (developer said it was fixed in 1.03 Build). when you do a playthrough and chose a specific path you can just get stuck in a infinite loop.
in the opening scene of the game it says it has a simple combat system… there's no combat system you will get the option to do one thing or the other.
in the trailer it shows some sort of animation in the game yet again there is non.
the images on the store page is literally what the game is.

My full review can be found here:

Where do I even begin with this game... Wild Island Quest follows the story of a group of guys who are going from their home island (Mech-City Island) to Wild Island while it's on a rare pass-by. While you can go it alone, you can also gather up your friends to go with you. What choices you make determine how many of your friends you can recruit (I did the path with recruiting Conan only).

Interesting idea, right? That's what got me initially interested. Unfortunately, everything goes wrong in Wild Island Quest quite fast. If you're able to even follow the story, you'll find a a lot of English mistakes in terms of grammar and odd word choices. This pretty much tells you that this was translated with a Russian to English dictionary and in quite a few places it seemed they didn't quite know which word to use so they just picked a random one. Of course, this "random one" makes very little sense to a native English speaker, and in several cases I actually had to go search up words that were used to try and figure out what word/meaning they were going for.

The horrendous English coupled with the pretty poor graphics (the models just look awful) make Wild Island Quest fall very short of what it could have been. As it stands, unless some drastic improvements are made, this game gets a gigantic pass. There are better visual novels/choose your own adventures out there. Oh and no, there isn't really a "combat system". You just choose if you were lucky or unlucky in an outcome.

How far would you go to save your pup?

A short yet charming indie visual novel with different endings depending on what options you choose. The achievements are exceptionally easy, which should just take under an hour to complete. The story itself isn't particularly memorable, but has an intresting concept. Despite this the price isn't worth it, not even for the achievements or card drops. Playing the game will give you 3/5 card drops.

"You're approaching the edge of the island as the "Wild Island" floats closer, now only a jump away. Your friends beckon you to come over, before the opportunity is stolen from you. Taking a deep breath, you jump -"
Suddenly you wake up, and here is where the novel starts. Today is finally the day you will be able to see explore the Wild Island, a dream you've had for years now. But first, you must prepare yourself. This is where the first options are given to you, who and what you take etc. After playing through the game three times, it doesn't really matter who you take with you, as the ending is usually the same: You either complete your objective or die in the process. The novel however does have checkpoints, so if you die you won't have to begin again from the start. The most important thing that matters is your Luck, which is rolled with a dice at the very begining off the game. Fortunately you can re-roll if you're not satisfied with the score. This determines if the choice you chose will succeed or fail, for example lighting a fire or combat.

Something you'll notice right off the bat is a lot of translation errors, as the story was orginally in russian. However this doesn't take away from the overall feeling of the game. Graphically it looks decent, although there was some scenes where a stock photo was used as the background, which does take away from the immersion of the game. The audio is quite pleasing, and can be relaxing at times when accompanied by naturistic sounds.

Overall this game could have been a great VN, if more effort was put in to the overall story. Apart from this everything is practically fine, but if you're looking for a VN with beautiful graphics/art and great audio, this VN isn't for you.

If you like my review, any feedback is appreciated and if you would like to see more reviews from me in the future, feel free to follow me!

3.3/10 - Visual Novel on the Lower End of the Spectrum.

I didn't hate this game but it's definitely of lower quality in both depth of story and graphics. You can complete this game rather quickly and 100% the game in an hour or two. The graphics have a wide range of polish; the city was really well done... the "Wild Island" floating looked like garbage. Odd photos added into the game to pay tribute to its Russian Comrade creators.

Once in a generation the wild floating island orbits close to the mainland. While witnessing this majestic your poor pup jumps the distance and vanishes into the woods of Wild Island. You have no choice but to follow and retrieve your dog at any cost...

Worth $0.50-2. I'd only grab on HEAVY discount. If you are new to Visual Novels please don't play this first.

This is not a GOOD game, at all. It's a Choose Your Own Adventure broken down to its core, but the art is crap and story not particularly engaging (nothing really happens). Check some screenshots of the game and you'll immediately understand the overall quality you're dealing with for the product.

Yet still, it is kind of charming in a weird way. I guess what I mean is, I had fun with it despite it not being a good game. Buy this for a dollar or grab it in a bundle or something, and it's worth the TIME you'll spend on it (less than an hour) just potentially not the MONEY (if you don't buy it at 75%+ off!)

Incredibly stupid.
Played 10 minutes before I had to give up, because I could just feel my brain turning into mush from all the r3tardedness.

1) Game starts by saying you have a "luck factor", which is determined by the AI rolling a dice whose rolled number then becomes your luck score. It then proceeds to add, if you're not happy with the score you got, you can keep rolling the dice again and again till you get a number you're satisfied with.
==> If this is the case, what then is the darn point of even having a luck factor in the first place? Everyone's just gonna keep rolling till they get the highest number, since they can!

2) You are constantly told that a place called "Wild Island" constantly floats "near" the land where you live. The "nearness" of Wild Island is emphasised many times. And yet, a few sentences down (i.e. after the story keeps telling you how "near" Wild Island is), the story says it is "quite far" to get to this island.
==> o__O So is it "near" or "far" away??? Make up your damned mind!!!

There were many other logical inconsistencies, amidst the almost indecipherable and painful-to-process English. I wasn't sure if this lack of sense was due to poor translation, or something else altogether. In any case, I had to stop playing in order to save my sanity and patience.

Just take the cards and run. Run far, far away from this one.

*Warning, this review contains SPOILERS*

Basically a poor Choose Your Own Adventure game where kids accomplish heroic deeds whether by exterminating an entire population of natives or whether by using a lighter to fool them into thinking you're a god. All that to save a stupid dog that got lost in the jungle.

Doesn't that sounds a little racist? I guess I'm way too oversensitive... right?

Aside from that the game itself is plagued by poor game design choices including amateurish art style, very short story, annoying music and lack of encounters during the journey. If only the game could have been longer...

As for the writing, nothing too impressive neither. It's pretty much cliché. You're a kid who dreams of exploring an island with friends. And so you gather all your friends for the upcoming adventure. Once you get there, your dog Snoopy gets lost in the jungle. So, you must find him.

As you progress you eventually find a native village and... guess what? They captured your dog! So, don't befriend the natives! Let's resort to violence! You kill the natives, you save the dog. Daddy is proud of you and you get an ego boost for doing the "right" thing. The END. Or you scare the natives with fire. Or you hold a lighter in front of you and start talking gibberish to tell the natives that you're actually their god.

Wow, it's just crazy how european misconceptions and misrepresentations of native people hasn't changed much since the colonial era... Nonetheless I gotta say I appreciated the use of the old trope of the fire as a symbol of knowledge and wisdom.

Overall, I'd recommend you to buy this game... only if you enjoy collecting bad games like me! Hurry up before it gets deleted on Steam! You've been warned!

At least, Wild Island Quest has some replay value since it can take some times to figure out the path to the good ending. Also, the game supports many resolutions and doesn't crash... except when you alt+tab and return to the game.

Few weeks later and that cheesy music still haunts me...

Another choice driven VN adventure game.

Very simple and basic. You are boy that want to look at the flying island that pass by your city every once a while end up going onto the island to save your dog.

Depend on your preparation you can have 1 to 3 friend to accompany you. (to get more people, save time going from house to house instead of taking the item)
You have several ways to die. at the mouth of a sabertooth wolf.. killed by sleep drien flower... killed by native man.

It's really quite easy and short. about 5-6 minutes per game and takes 3-4 different combo of characgter/item to get all the achivements.

okish graphics but I don't like it personally and decent sound effect.

7/10.. just basic recommendation if you already own the game. use this game to burn off half an hour and get another easy 100% done.

This is not a good game, even for a small indie developer. I do recognize, however, their effort to do something different. Here are my thoughts:

- Nice enough scenarios (for a visual novel)
- Some cool sound effects
- Bizarre scenes that make you laugh

- Badly translated, with many glaring grammar and word-choice issues
- Weird luck system that does not add anything to the game
- Too short
- Not much content, even if you choose different paths

Given a decent proofreading service and using criticism to do something better, this game could be half-decent. As it is, now, it may be a fun litle ride, but not something worth any money, so I have to give it a thumbs down.

Note: I played this game a couple of times to see different paths/endings, but most of my time in the game (more than 3 hours) was iddling it for cards

Really bad game. Only thing its good for is easy achievements. Game is extremely short and all achievements can be obtained in 3 games. 3D graphics but they are just basic models. No real depth to the game.

Wild Island Quest is a story driven game, with alternate choices and endings.

The story isn't very strong and is very similar to the choice books growing up as a child (Tom Hanks and the movie BIG lying about those digital choice comics!)

Also the images chosen look like the graphic renderings of the 3dFx Voodoo 2, loving the scene in the white meadows obtaining the “Sweet Death” achievement and the haunting stare on the kids faces that are the stuff of nightmares!

Overall it feels like I have time travelled, yet the release was 2015, the game/story isn't enjoyable, and despite numerous choices and apparent effort, it just doesn't do anything for me. Whilst the cheap price tag, it still would be better if it was found in a bundle.
