The game is pretty chill; character customization is suprb! This is my first NBA 2k game so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
I bought this game for like 6 bucks and decided I needed variety in my life.

My career mode is very...odd. I feel like I have no free will in the game at all. I am fine with the family, and having a twin sister, because well I’m black. Spike Lee directs the story of a black kid coming up from the slums of the projects just trying to get into the NBA. While on your way to fame. The story mode only caters to one race. Spike Lee being who he is still created a very deep story for your character that will leave with "Oh damn" When everyone refers to you though they just call you 'Freq’. Secondly, the game feels more like a pay to win game. If you want to upgrade anything you have to put some real life cash into the game to get their online currency of VC.
-Shooting at certain distance never guarantees you a shot for some reason even if it was TIMED PERFECTLY
-Teammates will forget how to shot
- The opposing team will become 3pt good out of no where.
With all this in mind and the price they are trying to sell it for, I can't recommend the game.

This game looks amazing and plays like garbage. The career mode is AWFUL. The story is so boring, you have the illusion of choice but really you have very little, and the game itself is fun while in high school and college and dull as anything in the NBA. Way too many cut scenes and stupid game overlays. Shooting is almost totally random. Your player gets stuck in the paint occasionally and so you turn the ball over. The only way I was able to make an impact with my player was with rebounding, where I frequently left the player I had to guard (which the game berated me for every time) when I could see there was going to be a shot, and stood under the basket. Everything else was boring as ♥♥♥♥.

ps. how does it make sense that you're this hot-♥♥♥♥ player and get drafted in the first round, but your stats are garbage and you can barely make a jump shot, even when you're six foot 9 and next to the bucket? It doesn't. It doesn't make sense.

I've never left a bad review for a game before. I've always felt like if a bunch of developers spent a huge amount of time on a crappy game then it'd be messed up to leave a bad review. Well in this case I figure it's ok. Because they take a pretty good game and absolutely ruined it. For insance. This game has a shot based around a cage taht fills and a timed release. Well you'd think they'd make sure that guage is always visible. WELL THEY DON'T. Occasionally the guage will go off screen, behind other players or behind annoying popups that tell you things like who the announcer is that's talking or how big the last run was. It's so infuriating to go to take a shot and suddenly have the guage covered. It's even more annoying because the guage fill time seems to vary based on which player is shooting and how far they are from the goal. And sometimes it doesn't even fill up. It just shoots. And there's no real good tutorial in the game. Like you're just suppose to already know how to play. So then you get to the passing on offence. You tell it to pass and maybe it'll pass somewhere good, maybe it won't. WHO KNOWS. Then on defence you switch players by pressing A. So press A repeatedly until you get the player you want. But it transfewrs you to the player closest to the ball. Not the player who should be covering the shooter. And there's no alternate button as far as I can tell to choose. So when you're cycling players sometimes you periodically interupt another player running to position, disrupting him, then you get the player you want, but the person that other guy was suppose to be covering is wide open. This kills the game.

So... given all of that, how do you make it worse? Well, let's throw in a crap load of ads! For instance, every time you try to shoot a free throw, on the second shot, the gatorade logo will always block you from seeing the guage. This kills the game.

What else? Well the game calls timeouts every friggen 2 minutes. This is an unskippable 20 second loading screen essentially every 2 minutes. There is no way to turn this off in options or alter the volume of timeouts that are called. This more than anything... kills. the. game.

Now if this was a crappy game, I wouldn't care. I wouldn't even want to play it. But this game is actually fun when you can actually play it to spite the crappy passing and defense controls. It just needs a good tutorial, a fixed position for the shooting guage that's always on top, and the ability to turn off timeouts. If I could do that, I'd probably play the crap out of this game and LOVE it. But... unfortunately I want to play this game all the time and it does nothing but infuriate me because it's so close to being good and just seems to be intentionally destroyed by ads, and timeouts.

Also as a side note... the story line is garbage. It says it's a Spike Lee joint, but if I was Spike Lee I wouldn't want my name on some garbage like that. It's horrible. I haven't tried online play yet. So maybe that'll be what saves the game. But I know better than to play a game online before practicing offline for a long time. I guess we'll see.

Doesn't work well for PC- especially the keyboard configuration, said they weren't going to fix it and now I have to buy an extra controller and it crashes so often. I'd rather play a game of Russian roulette with bullets in all of the chamber than to buy another game from this franchise.

Rating: 0/10.

Go drink bleach, Visual Concepts. ♥♥♥♥ yourself.

NBA 2K7 is a basketball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports. It is the eighth installment in the NBA 2K franchise and the successor to NBA 2K6. It was released in 2006 for PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox, and Xbox 360. Shaquille O'Neal is the cover athlete of the game. NBA 2K7 is the predecessor to NBA 2K8 in the NBA 2K series.

The game strives to simulate the experience of the National Basketball Association and attempts to be as realistic as possible. Players play NBA basketball games with real life teams in a variety of game modes. Players may customize the gameplay, as well as the players, and can take control of an NBA team as the general manager, hiring coaches, and making a profit. The game features all the main aspects found in the NBA, such as commentary, realistic crowd animations, and halftime shows. The game's overall gameplay, as well as the aesthetics, was said to have been significantly improved before release.

NBA 2K7 received a positive reception upon release. A lot of praise was directed at the game's overall presentation; some critics called the visuals "gorgeous", while others said it was "spectacular" and achieved great "visual feats". Most other praise was directed at the game's improved gameplay, as well as the depth and wealth of content. Some negative comments were made concerning the models and animations of the players.

Game crashes to desktop after every MyCareer game during the playoffs, developers haven't cared about the game in months and will not fix the bug and with that you also can't get a refund even though the game is unplayable where you can't even finish the game 90% of the time. You have to play the same game multiple times until the game eventually says you don't crash this time. Absolutly ridiculous that 2k won't fix this game breaking bug just because it isn't 2k17.

Tl;Dr: Developers don't care about the game, game crashes after almost every game you play, no way to get money back even though the game is unplayable.

A solid 2/10

I have only written a few reviews. This is my first DO NOT buy review. Look, the game is solid but ever since games started coming out needing patch after patch to play, you have to be careful. Some devs, work hard to make a great game and keep it that way, others focus on advertisement to keep a games hype up after the the release. 2k games is known for having problems like this but I figured that the game was almost a year old an 1,000's of people were online play it everyday. I picked it up during the summer sale. It should be good, right? WRONG!!! I'm not sure what happened but shortly after 2k17 came out people started having trouble playing the game. The game would just freeze after a short time. It would then boot you if you're lucky. It might just make you hard reset your system. The worst thing about it is that the 2k team has not even announced that they would even try the address the issue. This is ridiculious. Players are trying to step in as usually and fix the games problems but they shouldn't have to. Don't waste your money on a game that you have to fix just to play. If this changes, then it will be a different story but if people continue to buy then developers have no reason to listen to the gamers and this poor level of commitment will not change.
