Wow this is bad. Almost impressivly so. Sure, It was probably easy to make things like the art bland and the music painfully generic, but in other areas it seems like there was some real effort to make this properly terrible.

A camera angle which makes it difficult to place where your ship is relative to bullets, that's some effort right there. Ship movement which seems oddly disconnected from controller input, hit boxes that float some distance away from the actual target, sound effects that scrape against your will to live. This crap doesn't make itself y'know.

Crashed when I tried to put it into 1080p mode. Overall the gameplay is a bit bland. The levels feel like they stretch on for a long period of time and the bullets are flying around so fast you will get hit no matter what. This game could learn a lot more from Ikaruga or Raiden, as those a both much more solid games than this. Overall I'd stay look to the other vert-scrolling shooters as this one is lacking polish.

I really thought this was going to be awesome. blowing stuff up old skool style.... No.
There are no interesting mechanics at all whatsoever.
Get Atebreed or Ether Vapor instead of this.

Fun game If you want to start all over again. Once you play and close it and play again it's like you never played it. play 1000 hours of this game and everything will be the same. No saves no thanks Save your money instead that's a good save :)

I was expecting modern version of the classic shooter Raiden sadly this game does not deliver.
*Extremly dull and boring until you get to the boss
*very limited weapon. 3 weapons? 2 bombs? You can NOT power up during the missions.
*♥♥♥♥ty weapons. still ♥♥♥♥ after upgraded

Only fun I had in this game is posting highscore using dirty word.

Don't remember how I got this game probably from a bundle
I hope no one paid $9.99 for this

Quick review coming from a shmup lover.

The Good :
- the game does't look too bad. By today's standards, it doesn't look too good either, but I wouldn't mind if it played ok.
- Music sounds good, but...

The Bad :
- Controls are rigid. Don't even try to play with an XBOX360 controller...
- Patterns are repetitive.
- I have a big feeling problem with this game. Can't feel the power of the weapons. Can't feel when I'm hit. This is probably because the sound in the game is not very well balanced.
- ... the sounds FX are weak. Can't hear any explosion. Shot sounds are flat and weak.
- Music sounds totally inappropriate. It's good, but it feels like it's the music from another game...

Definitely not worse the full price.

This game is like retro-arcade game. It's simply fun.

The only bad thing about this game is there are no save that means when you close this game, all of your progress will gone so I don't surprise why some achievement like shoot down 4,000 enemies is rare to achieve.

Razor2 has some fantastic visuals and a great soundtrack with the gameplay one would expect from a standard SHMUP (shoot ‘em up) but doesn’t bring anything particularly new to the genre. Expect cool upgrades, boringly repetitive enemies, and a complete lack of a defined hitbox! For SHMUP enthusiasts. Get it cheap in a bundle or something, otherwise it’s not worth it and certainly not worth $10. I personally found it to be enjoyable.

- Lots of pretty action, massive bosses, and bright bullets all over the place.
- Upgrade your ship between the eight stages with new weapons, shields, and equipment.
- Easy achievements. You can earn all ten simply by playing through the whole game.
- Epic orchestrated soundtrack! Can’t complain about the musical selection.
- Decent replay value.

- Poorly defined hit box. This is a huge flaw for a SHMUP in my opinion.
- Undefined “edges” of the playing area make it difficult to gauge where to dodge.
- Repetitive enemy patterns make the 5-minute stages seem boring and long.
- Numerous typos and language errors make any attempt at a story meaningless.
- It’s just not noteworthy in any way. It’s very “run of the mill” in terms of gameplay.

- Limited controller support. It works in most places, but not in all menus.
- No tutorial or practice mode and the controls are not exactly intuitive.

Overall, I found it to be fun to play through a full run or two but repetition will leave you bored and unimpressed. There is some solid strategy available in the form of ship customization but in the end it’s still the same repetitive stage battles, and if you use up your single continue and all your lives then you’ll have to start over from the beginning again. It has some redeeming qualities in that the soundtrack is pretty awesome and that the achievements are all pretty easy to get (aside from maybe the “no continue” one). The visuals are not overly remarkable but they are well done. The typos and spelling errors are painful to read through though.

I highly recommend using a controller. I use a Logitech F310 and have no issues with the gameplay itself, although menu navigation is wonky at best.

Hilariously bad. Out of its many faults, the bad controls are the dealbreaker. That and the fact that you can only use 80% of the screen for some reason. If you try to go to the leftmost or rightmost 10% of the screen you just hit an invisible wall. Hope you weren't trying to dodge something! Oh wait. Of course you weren't. Beacuse this is a bad game and you shouldn't play bad games.

Mediocre shoot em up with few and not particularly useful powerups. The music is horrible and you can't turn it off even if you set the music volume at the lowest, so you have no choice but to listen it while playing until it stops on its own sometime before the first boss, while the voice over keeps repeating the same things over and over again and you'll soon get tired of it.

Can't remember where did I get this - bundles?

Almost instantlly installed this just seeing a 3D shmup is kind of rare and worth taking a look. The first thing that pretty much disappoints me was the video setting - no 16:9 options at all, default setting is 1024*768 or so that stretches so wide I can barely read the words. After finished with the video settings I started a game with only 60% of my screen used.

Gameplay is more terrible than I can imagine. Poor graphics is still acceptable, but this game fails to deliver any tension, you will have absolutly no feeling of accomplishment - dodging bullets is way too easy and provides no challenge at all, you wound't feel that you are swift or keeping up your precision to survive. Battles before the boss are so bored you will start to ponder how long it will take. Finally the boss battle, it is just another X minutes you can't stop thinking "when will this boring $*** end"? Terrible thing for shump games that requires you to concentrate.

I forgot to mention - poor SFX and BGM, any random music will sound more relevalant to the scene than the BGM.
Definitively not worth $9.99, not even $0.99. I don't think the team can do better with 2D, it is more about gameplay than graphics.

Wonky interface. Little to no variety in enemies, map after map. Upgrades in ship appear to have no effect on power. Overall a poor game

I was hoping for this to be a port or spiritual successor to Raptor: Call of the Shadows. At best, this game is just another vertical-scroll shmup that could-have, should-have, but didn't. At worst, this game is the deformed afterthought of something great, standing as a grim testament to game quality sacrificed at the altar of publishing dates and delivery deadlines.

The graphics are unpolished and the game UI/menus are painfully slow, with unusable tooltips. The gameplay is monotonous and uninteresting and collision detection is indiscernible. Bullet hell generates notable in-game lag even on a new computer from 2014. Power-ups seem to be ineffective, and replay value is nil.

In summary: Just go play Raptor. You're welcome.

Sort of like the old top down shooter games. only the old games had more content and imagination.

Top down shooter.
Controller support.

only 3 types of enemy in the first l;evel.
Level 1 bos takes a LONG time to kill.

Nothing really intersting happens.
Landscape is boaring.

It is 2014, with a few more weeks of work this game could have been brought up-to-par. There could be a LOT more visuals, especially on the ground. There could be a lot more enenmys.

game needs to be finished. This seems like an incomplete game that needs a few more weeks of polish.

Played 11 minutes with this game so far. I want it back. I expected to have an old-school shooter but didn't expect to have such technical execution and I don't mean it in a good way. A strange thing I really didn't expect was that this game's graphical engine is so badly optimized that I experienced stuttering, laggy controls and pretty low framerate and this ruined my game experience in no time.

If you want to play a great shooter, check out Aqua Kitty - Milk Mine Defender instead.

Edit: Played a little more and here are some notes:
* You cannot save. Once you quit you need to start from Mission 1 again.
* The menu mouse controls are awful. You'd think that you clicked on something while you haven't.
* When there are a certain amount of enemies on the screen I still get a large framerate drop when I have shadows enabled. Even with a Radeon R9 270X! Oh c'mon!
