What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“[UPDATED JULY 2016] We first brought Games of Glory to the Steam early access community in May of last year. It was a great experience for us that allowed us to learn a lot about the strengths and weaknesses of the game we had spent two years developing.

Since then, we have taken into account all of the reviews and feedback that we have seen and have been working on a brand new version of the game that we hope to present to you soon! Lot's will have changed, you can read more about it in our most recent announcement.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“[UPDATED JULY 2016] As of right now, we hope to bring you the reloaded Games of Glory by the end of the year, with some surprises along the way!”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“[UPDATED JULY 2016] Coming soon you can expect to see a major overhaul that includes:
  • Major changes to the control scheme
  • All-new weapons system
  • Increased game speed
  • New characters
  • Graphical overhaul including
  • -- Upgraded to Unity 5 for much better graphics
  • -- Retexturing of all existing characters
  • -- Redesigned maps
  • -- All new user interface (ingame + out of game)

Please check out our full Update FAQ for more information!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“PLEASE NOTE that the Games of Glory matchmaking is currently closed. It is possible to play with friends or against bots, but you will be playing on a version of the game which is quite outdated, as we have not published the many changes that we are working on right now!”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game is and will be free to play. We believe current DLC packages are cheap and will likely be more expensive in the future.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Many of the changes we have made to game have been implementing community ideas. We are always happy to chat in the Steam forums or elsewhere (like by email -- get in touch at contact[at]lightbulbcrew.fr !).

We plan to continue to develop the game with the community at its core. A future game mode, for exmaple, will give our players a direct impact on the future of the universe.”

Is the game still in development?

For Glory and For Games
While the game may still be rough on its edges. The game has come long way since its alpha release around 7 months ago. The Client and UI looked pretty horrible back then and they have understood these concerns and updated them. Some of the UI probably doesn't match todays standards, but i bet they are looking into fixing those issues.

However not all things aren't on a level they should be at, such as character roster is only 12 clones and they need add more to get diversified playstyles. The Animations and attack frames can be bit glitchy on certain characters with certain guns, this is also a big point that i would like to see more improvement on. I feel sometimes that the combat could be smoother and flow overall better.

The Game has bit of Snowball element into it if you go really behind early on, since the game doesn't really create lot of oppoturnities for comebacks. Graphics are pretty nice and there is decent support for eSports stuff such as creating your own teams and making ur logos appear integrated on the playing map.

While i believe they could have tuned the game bit more up before jumping to early access, i still like to believe that they have come long way and have possibility of reaching new heights as they develop the game further. I think it has good potential to be great game one day, it may not be today, but in month or two it could.

Games of Glory - is BloodlineChampions meets S4!

I will be strict here! While I love the theme and the mechanic, but it is way too early to even call this early access material!

Pros :
The theme and the style is catchy
Combat mechanic is challenging
Characters look relatively good compared to the other parts of the game //they probably got more focus

Cons :
The UI!!! It is a blast from the past! Unless you like the retro feel.
Early Access - I'd say it is still too early to start this, but i can already see the focus on the cash shop!
TF2- Hat game //1$ ~ 270 CashShopCredit cheapest sett is 890 CSc while a good hat will cost the same ~900

In short :
Games of Glory is still a long way away from being a well polished, responsive arena fighter game.
But I would love to see what the developers can make out of it.

I like Games of Glory, it a pretty unique feeling MOBA. I have only managed to play one or two matches including the tutorial, its a shame that there are almost no players. at this moment of me writing this there are 13 players online and 3 in the queue for matchmaking. Overall its pretty dead. Thats the one biggest issue I found.

Games of Glory isn't a simple MOBA, for having played at every major games of this kind (DoTA, DoTa II, LoL, HoN, SMITE, HoTS...) I can tell the only game I found such original, deep and crazy experience is GoG.

Gameplay: In a MOBA gameplay is kinda straightforward, or it is?

Usually you have to use your mouse, right clicking on the place to go, right clicking on the ennemy to auto attack... well not that much exciting isn't it?
In GoG there is no such thing as an Auto Attack and you can move via mouse click or with WASD (yup this looked strange too me also, but this gives trully new gaming perspectives).

Let's talk about maps, here we have 2 different maps with two TOTALLY different game modes and ways to play, one "classic" defend base -but with some new shiny ideas such as capture the point income and victory point- and one "protect the VIP" objective.
This gives more deepness to the game since you have to rethink how to use your clone (champion) and build!

Since we're on the build...Dion't you find strange to give a sword to a hero whom is using an bow and not even seeing its attack (animation, or way to attack) change ? Let's say for LoL : giving Infinity Edge (a mothafreaking sword) to an Ashe and that Ashe still using a bow you didn't even bought?
Here every weap you take (riffles, guns, knifes, warhammer, rocket launchers and even A FLAMETHROWEEEER) is really on your clone and you'll see him using it to deliver DEATH on battlefield.

I could keep on chatting on the game, but why not just trying the game by yourselves? ;)

I'll finish by one thing : for me GoG could easily stand for "Great Original Gameplay" ;)

Hello !

I'm Shiiroi, I played LOL and went up to the Platinium level but I got a little bit bored of the game and stopped for a while.
I tought I wouldn't go back to a MOBA soon but then I found this game.

I really like the gameplay which is quite different from other MOBA. The is no auto attack system but the player need to aim in order to hit his ennemy. It makes the games quite interesting challenging.

And the lenght of a game is also way shorter than in traditional MOBA. I think the average game is about 20 minutes.

A lot of players get discouraged when starting the game because the mechanics are different from what they are used to, but I really recommand to practise a few games vs bots in order to understand how things works.

There is many issues with the game and not enough players but it's still in Alpha so I recommand to try the game and practise a bit !

A TL;DR can be found at the bottom of this review.

- Good, unique concept. The gamemode could use a little more defining here and there in explaining what everything does, but after a few matches you can get the hang of it and comprehend it well. The gamemode calls for close matches between both teams.
- AI can be challenging, it takes a little effort to play better than them, personally I feel like they're the perfect difficulty to play against before you can play against actual players.
- Heroes are cool and unique, and their classes are well-defined.
- You can make groups to play with your friends.
- Level progression is slow but not unbareable.
- Varied free hero rotation.

- Video-based tutorials are really the only emphasized form of education on the game.
- I have a high ping on the servers (I live in Washington state in the United States of America) at about 160, makes gameplay a little less enjoyable than it could be.
- You don't receive very much currency for each match, and matches last about 20 minutes on average, makes matches feel less worth playing than they could.
- Matches can feel long and dragged on with rogue teammates.
- More optimization options would be great.
- Low playerbase, so install it and play :D

Overall, it's a good MOBA. It's hardly a copy of any other MOBA I've played, and it can be a lot of fun. However, matches can feel long depending on your team, and can lack enjoyability because of the naturally high ping servers and because of the short rewards with each match. I'd definitely try it, I know I'm for sure going to continue playing and following development.

Games of Glory is a MOBA in Early Release. Need a lot more work. Need more people to test the game that like playing and beta testing unfinished MOBAs. Very buggy. Currently, No pugging PVP matches. The enemy bots are too good and the ally bots are too dumb. Tutorial is broken.

I will just put down some questions and answer them... Have any more question feel free to add me and ask me more. Posted 6 june 2015

Why would I recomend it?
The game is free and I think it innovates enought for you to try it.

Graphics and ingame sound is lackluster and some have reported on unresponsive gameplay but I haven't really felt that. It might be a problem from person to person. Items is hard to understand but I got a hang of it pretty quickly.

Is the game unbalanced?
Hard for me to say, I do not think I have played enougth to tell you if the game is unbalanced. Btw all the reviews that tell you that the game is unbalanced probebly only met a better player with a lot of experience and therefore lost bad. You could say that it is almost necessary to have a support on your team and a support with heals is often prefered. That does not mean that the game is unbalanced just that it is starting to create a meta for the game.

I need help what to do?
You can ask for help in global chat because most of the player are nice and therfore you will probebly get help. I am also fine if you add me if you need help but as I go away on a trip in a few days I might not respond. Will be back on the 18 june but after that I can help people if they want. Devs are also nice do and you should not be scared of writing on the steam formum for the game!

Low amount of players!?
It is true!

Best tips for players:
Play tutorial before playing against better players.
Make a custom game with other new players to try to improve your understanding of the game.
Follow the Game of Glory on twitter because they retweet give aways and that means free stuff!
Be born in france because main chunk of players are french. (BTW I am not french)

I hope you give this game a try!

I have to be honest - right now, it's a Very Early Access game. Forget the bundles, the game is not worth the money right now. The main issue is imbalance and overall unappealing interface and gameplay. It's a typical MOBA that doesn't bring anything new into the genre, nothing fresh or amazing.

I do realize that there is a core or a structure to these types of games, however the only mode available right now is a downright clone of League of Legend's Dominion mode with a few twists. When Dominion first introduced, it had a clear objective for the player. Even after playing the GoG tutorial I couldn't understand what was going on the map for a few games. It's a Team Deathmatch with a few spots that force the players to meet in that certain spot and spam whatever they've got in their hands, with little fun, smoothness, tactics or appeal.

Assault rifles are clearly the best weapons in the game, especially if you're using the character Pinto. Speed and damage plus his ability to instantly reload his weapon makes him so overpowered that I've been cutting through enemies like a hot knife through butter. And even then, the enemy team would simply use the tank to take on the towers and get to my team's core, destroying it within a single raid. Absolutely no balance, no map modifiers (apart from spots that generate money faster for your team), no creep involvement in leveling up - all that has to be completely redone for GoG to be a fun game.

Visually, bland and uninteresting - I literally have nothing else to write about it. It looks Free to Play. The soundtrack is nonexistent but I can't complain, I don't want it in a MOBA anyway (maybe apart from the menu screen). Turn the announcers off, they make absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and general comments that have no connection to what's going on in the actual game. Their voices are annoying and it really feels forced, the developers clearly wanted to push that 'Championship' feel into it. And failed.

Lore of the game I can't address because it still looks like a stubble. It's like a mix between Vikings and Aliens but I really can't make anything out of it. I'm too dumb.

Overall I wouldn't recommend it. Download it and try for yourself. Check it out from time to time, it might get better, maybe next year but don't pay for anything at this stage.

The game isn't dead, at all. It's just in development.
The build here on Steam isn't updated in a long time and do not offer a matchmaking system (bot or friends). They're reworking some main mechanics of the game in order to release the beta but the game is already promising, considering its alpha state.

So, my 1st review was like: "this game is abandoned by developers and totally dead".
But I was wrong, because this game is still in development.
We can only wait for a public release.

I like this game although there aren't many players who play this game so it takes a while to find a game :I The matches are usualy unbalanced because there are player who've been playing it for a long time and they're placed against people who just started the game and don't realy understand what are they doing.
