Announcing Our Physical PS4 Release Date with Limited Run and Japanese Release Date with Playism!

Cyberpunks, we have some really big news for you!

We know many of you have been waiting patiently since we announced it during the week on E3, and the time is finally here: The Limited Run physical edition of 2064: Read Only Memories will be available for sale on Friday!

Our supporters on Patreon got a few previews, but now you can see the three beautiful covers. They’ll be chosen at random, but if you’re a super collector like we are Limited Run has put together a bundle so you can get all three covers.

There are only 2,064 copies total of each cover, so getting your order in as quickly as possible. Once they sell out, that’s it!

We’re really proud of this beautiful, physical edition of the game. We hope you’ll support us by picking up one of your own, and that you’ll love it as much as we do.

We’ve also announced a release date for the Japanese translation: November 22nd! We couldn’t have done this without the help of our friends at Playism, who are also releasing VA-11 HALL-A by our pals Sukeban Games.

We’re very excited for these releases, and we hope you’ll continue to follow along with us on our Twitter and Facebook, with Limited Run on their Twitter and Facebook, and Playism on their Twitter and Facebook.

4 Years since the original KS, and 2 Years since the original Launch! :O

Hey 'Punks!

It's been almost 4 years since our original Kickstarter ended! We've been working on this game for that long.

We have to start with a huge huge huge thank you. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for putting your money into a game project from a first time game developer, thank you for believing that we could make this happen, and thank you for entrusting us. A lot has happened in those 4 years!

We also want to apologize for the lack of communication and poor timeline execution -- we had to learn the hard way about a lot of the pitfalls of making your own game and we greatly overestimated our skill to amount of time ratio, and ended up falling short of a lot of our projections for release dates. This is something we can only promise to work hard on improving for the future, and we hope you'll continue to support us through our growing pains.

We've made a post detailing our present and future plans for 2064: Read Only Memories on our Kickstarter page, which you can read here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gaymercon/read-only-memories-a-tribute-to-90s-adventure-game/posts/2022537

The post details our overall plans for the game and its various ports, here's what you need to know for the Steam version.

- Before the end of November, the game will be released in Japan with full localization (but with English voices)! We have spent a long time working with PLAYISM in Japan to make sure our localization got things right. We also got to go to TGS to show it off a month ago, and we had a lot of fun showing folks our near completed version of 2064:ROM JP.

We're really glad to have found a partner who understands the vision we had for the game and was committed to making sure it represented the cyberpunk and queer spirit we intended for the world. If you're in Japan or have friends who speak Japanese, please stay tuned. We believe the localization is a true extension of our vision.

- Before the end of the year, the game will receive its final, FREE update that includes new voice acting scenes for Dekker, Turing, Lexi, Crow and Gordon, as well as the police ROMs, the hospital ROM and more! The aim was to fill in the major unvoiced gaps, as well a few surprises. It will also include bug fixes and content tweaks.

2064: Read Only Memories will be finally done, closing the book on our game. But worry not - we have begun work on a new Read Only Memories story! We hope you'll stick with us to see what's next, because we are super excited about what we have planned.

Please hit us up anytime at @rom2064 or @wearemidboss on Twitter, or email us at Feel free to share your thoughts on our Steam forums as well! We want to talk to you!

About This Game

Neo-San Francisco, 2064 AD. Your life as a struggling journalist is interrupted by the world’s first sapient machine, a ROM (Relationship and Organizational Manager) named Turing. Together, you and the quirky robot will encounter a colorful cast of locals and overcome challenges as you uncover the city’s secrets behind the overlapping futures of technology and humanity. 2064: Read Only Memories is a new cyberpunk adventure that will take you on a journey of puzzle-solving and exploring as you investigate the mysterious world and characters of Neo-San Francisco.

Inspired by classics like Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father and Snatcher, 2064: Read Only Memories is a retrofuturistic take on the point-and-click adventure genre that features a rich mature narrative and unique gameplay challenges hidden within the beautiful interactive pixel scenes. The deeper you delve into the life of your missing friend, the further you get entangled into this tale about the dark side of technology.

Can you survive in Neo-SF? Or will the mystery go unsolved…?

Key Features:

  • Dynamic narrative defined by player choices, with over 10 hours of dialogue, exploration, and gameplay challenges with multiple solutions.
  • Voice acting from a unique and diverse professional cast of talent, including Austin Creed (aka WWE Superstar Xavier Woods), Todd Bridges, Melissa Hutchinson, Jim Sterling, voices from Telltale’s “The Walking Dead”, and many more!
  • New and revamped puzzles, an even deeper story and new expressive animations for the lively citizens of Neo-SF.
  • “Endless Christmas”, an extended epilogue giving you the opportunity to hang out with your favorite Neo-SF locals!
  • Even more Hassy than ever before!
