About This Game

***Not Compatible with Mac OS 10.8.x and above***

Prepare for a different kind of poker night in a very different kind of club. In Poker Night at the Inventory, you'll deal with Penny Arcade's clever, cunning Tycho, Team Fortress 2's hulking Heavy, Homestar Runner's self-proclaimed "awesome icon" Strong Bad and the hyperkinetic "rabbity-thing" from Sam & Max. These characters come together in ways some never thought possible, in a setting few would have predicted.
Unlock new TF2 items by beating The Heavy, Max, Tycho, or Strong Bad at high stakes games of poker.

The Enthusiast's Timepiece: Tycho's favorite timepiece (equippable by the Spy)

License to Maim: Max's Badge (equippable by all classes)
The Lugermorph: A second chance at Max's personal armament (equippable by the Scout and the Engineer)

The Iron Curtain: The Heavy's first love (equippable by the Heavy, obviously)

Dangeresque, Too?: Strong Bad's styling glasses (equippable by the Demoman)

A nice poker practice game with a pleasant addition of memorable (and some favourite) characters and TF2 items

And yeah, unlike almost everybody else, I'm here to improve my poker skills

Taught me how to play Texas Hold'em. Great game overall, with intruiging dialogue, impressive AI ability, and unlockable items (like the Lugermorph!).

If your a person who doesn't know how to play poker, but owns these games (Poker Night at the Invetory, and Poker Night 2) then your like me. I came for the TF2 unlocks and stayed for the commentary. Although I haven't played the second game I want to play the first game in full, unlocking the decks, and tables. Also I want to get all the acheivments before proceeding because I do really like this game.

Pros:

- Amusing character dialogue
- Tutorials
- A lot of fun to play
- TF2
- Great atmosphere
- Humour
- Helps you get into Poker

Cons:

- Becomes unrewarding after getting all the items

Final Thoughts:

Poker Night is a fun and rewarding experience. Of course, it's not for everyone. But it's definitely lighthearted and lots of fun to play.

7/10

Lost all game progress, unlocks, etc

This game breaking bug has been widely reported since the launch back in 2010. The devs haven't done anything about it. Would be so easy to use steam cloud. I was looking forward to complete the game as I wasn't far from it and now I've just been set back all the way to the very start. It's a mood breaker so I don't think I will be pursuing this anymore, not any time soon anyway.

Teaching a game the nuances of bluffing and raising stakes is impossible. Poker isn’t just about playing the game, it’s about playing the players, an impossible challenge Telltale circumvented by making your opponents unpredictable madmen. You play against Max from Sam & Max, The Heavy from Team Fortress 2, Tycho from Penny Arcade and Strong Bad from Homestar Runner. Each is a maniac and Tycho the only one I’d call intelligent. Since you can’t program sensible poker players, they’ve programmed amusingly nonsensical ones instead.

Playing cards is just an excuse to hear them chat. It’s like going backstage and seeing what they get up to when they’re not entertaining us, like the bits in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? where Disney and Warner Bros. characters hang out and argue.

There are two kind of racing game fans--those who prefer games to simulate actual cars and those who prefer arcade-style games that flip a middle finger at physics. Poker Night At The Inventory is the arcade version of poker, the Wacky Racers of the genre. You’ll tire of it once the dialogue loops, but it’s fun while it lasts.

I laugh at everyone who says that they only got the game because of TF2 items. The game itself is worth playing, plus if you think you can drop five bucks and get some easy TF2 items, you got another thing coming

Just be honest, you only got this game for the TF2 weapons. A fun game, maybe. You only play it for TF2 weapons, and you leave right after. This game is lacking in variety, but if you play TF2 I recommend it (so you can get the TF2 weapons).

You're situated at a shady speakeasy-type bar with four game characters who feel like long lost friends, and get shots taken at you while you flush their money into your pockets. Actually enjoying the game of poker is an obvious prerequisite (otherwise you won't get much enjoyment out of the experience).

Get it on sale, play it sporadically, and sit back and relax.
