And The Award Goes To...

This summer was prosperous for The Party, as Black The Fall was recognized by our international comrades as being one of the best indie games. We are yet to organize
a parade to celebrate the occasion in the genuine communist style. But in the meantime, we'd like to take the time to hug every team member who's dedicated each day in the past months/years to this project: Cristi + Nico, Razvan + Licu, Andreea + Marius and Andrei+. And also thank all the organizations who recognized our creative efforts by nominating or awarding us: BIG Festival , Gamescom , Spawn and [http://bicfest.org/] BIC Festival [/url].

The Party feels awkwardly humble, grateful, hopeful and proud at the same time. And here is a token of appreciation (souvenir from BIC Festival) to always remind us of these mixed feelings.

Thank YOU for playing!

A Bleak New World

There are decades since The Party has forbidden imagination. Wandering minds are dangerous. They create free worlds, they love and disobey. They challenge the status quo and fancy changes.

Anyway, we know you'd rather risk it than submit to The Party, so you've probably already imagined how the world outside The Factory looks like. So did we. And we've created it for Black.

This outside world is much needed in his journey. As a thought prisoner Black has to gradually unlearn how to be a worker and learn how to be a survivor. As he discovers how to cope with his surroundings, he might even take part in revolutions bigger than himself.

Up until now, if you played the demo, watched the trailer, watched a game-play or just stumbled upon Black The Fall screenshots, you must be acquainted with The Factory - the place where Black worked for the past years and the very subject of his escape. You might have also noticed some darker areas where work is done by machines mainly and shadows are reigning. That's what we call Into The Dark - the unfriendly area that separates the Factory from the outside world.

Now, considering the harsh conditions from the communist factory what should Black expect when getting out? He might have hoped for a colorful happy place, but the communist reality can only be painted in shades of black.

Black first sees the sky in The Mire. But as he explores the area he'll discover there's only polluted air to breathe and rusty water to drink. Exploited workers and killing machines. Sentinels or guards, their only purpose is to eliminate anyone who doesn't serve The Party anymore.

In a world where humans can't be trusted with empathy, he finds a friend. A robot helper. A pet. Now, his Pet.

As Black continues his journey of resilience, he reaches The City.

Not that he remembers so much about how it should be. He used to live in a village and to visit the city only once or twice a year. However, he can tell that The City has something unsettling about it, it feels strange and more dangerous than anything he's seen until now. Pushed by courage or plain necessity, he continues his journey. And so, he's up for a bitter-sweet discovery. But that's another story.

We are pretty thrilled about the outside world and The Pet, so can't wait to share more of Black's universe with you soon.

Well lets begin by saying that if this continues to push forward in the vein that has been showed so far then this will be one game i will be looking forward to them getting out of early access quicker than any other game in early access at the moment.
To look at it you will instantly be reminded of LIMBO (i was, first thing that came to mind was that classic) and thats both a good and a bad thing.I will explain why, anything that helps this game to sell is a good thing as like i have allready said this game will be one to keep an eye on,but it is also a bad thing in so much as this plays nothing like that game except for certain puzzle elements thay are two seperate games alltogether (so might upset some who think it is like said classic).
Now you only get access to the first five parts of the game and in this little time i have learned one thing, this plays really well and you would be forgiven for thinking it was a final and polished release.
The graphics and art style may have been done before but i dont remember it capturing my imagination as much as this game has,the sound and music are both of a high standard and really put forward the overall feeling that this game is going for,the gameplay seems at once to be both fresh and also at the same time familiar to anyone who has played a game made in this style.
Should you buy the game at the moment, well yes if you want to support a game that is both well made and allready shines with a polish that most early access games dont have.Having said that you dont get much to go at at the moment,so if you would rather wait until there is "more meat on the bones" so to speak who can blame you as we all like our games to not end before we have finished.

The game reminds me a lot of Limbo which is a great thing because Limbo was an amazing indie game! This game really has the potential at being a really good game. So far I have played 4 levels and I am enjoying it. I have come across quite a few different bugs that made playing a couple of time a bit annoying. But I wasn't expecting this to be perfect in the first place due to this being an early access game. If you like side scrollers and solving puzzles then I would say give the game a try and show the developers some support! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fe0p14HABcI&list=UUUI5L-pyfuGa2l_IlG1d7_Q

Black The fall is a title im really looking forward to fully release, I love this art style they have chosen, the Atmosphere is great and the gameplay is solid.
Black the fall got both weapons, big and small, and a great hide mechanic, you can choose to blast your way through enemies or do it more stealthy.
I as mentioned above cant wait for the full release of this game, i recommend ALL to pick this title up and try it out, and i bet you will soon hunger for more like me.

Black The Fall is a very peculiar game. What genre is it? I couldn't tell you. But what I can tell you is that this game has a lot of potential. I've been following this game since the very beginning, and I am pleased with how far this game has progressed. Right now, there's not much content (only 5 chapters), so don't expect too much when purchasing it right now. However, the price is affordable, and it's worth it, for me, to see this game constantly getting better and better. Are there bugs? You'd better believe it. No amount of bugspray can keep these pesky things away. But with each update, it's gotten better. Overall, I do recommend this game. In its current state, no, I wouldn't recommend it, but I genuinely believe this game will get better and finally end up becoming a great game. Please support the developer and buy it as early as possible. Right now, you are making a long-term investment in a game that could someday be amazing. So please, support this developer. Buy this game. It'll be worth it.

I played through the 5 levels in Early Access of Black The Fall and I had fun. When I first saw the Steam page, it reminded me of LIMBO. It has the same visual style about it and it is a side-scroller. I like that it has guns and a hide mechanic. Though, you can choose to sneak your way through or go guns blazing. You can see my video of me playing the first 2 levels with commentary:

Black: The Fall
Currently a rather short game, but very enjoyable.
TL;DR I give it 7/10 and a Thumbs up. I'm looking forward to any updates, expansions.

BTF is a Side Scrolling mix of 2d and 3d environments. I stepped into this world knowing nothing about it other than what I saw in the promo video. In a way it reminds me a bit of Abe's Oddessy, but much darker and minus the cute. I was able to finish the game, First loading >>> Credits screen in about 1.5 hours. But what an intense 90 minutes!

I really enjoyed the animation of Black moving through his environment. I realize it's only 2d, but the feel of his cloak movement was spot-on. Stealthing through a map takes a lot of patience, but most areas can be gotten through without ever firing your gun.

Please realize that this is an Early Release at this point, so there are some known issues. I checked the bug reports forum and the devs are being responsive and gracious about responding to the players. These minor bugs will not prevent you from completing the game. (obviously, I made it through)

I'm looking forward to this game getting fully developed and produced.
Black himself needs a story, a purpose or goal. Why is he here, what is his arc?

In conclusion, yes buy this.
Thumbs Up with a Smile!

Black The Fall is a unique looking side scroller puzzle shooter. It has the darkness and gore of a film like 'Sin City' and the elements of such classics like 'Limbo'.

The art style and atmosphere in this game is incredible. Every level gives you the choice of how to complete it, you can go in guns blazing or use a more stealthy approach. The choice is yours. A superb game that oozes class and style. - Enjoy!
