About This Game

From the creator of the Syberia series, experience Benoit Sokal's first adventure game masterpiece.

In 1932, Alexandre Valembois was a young explorer who, with his native friend Antonio Álvarez, wanted to make a name for himself by exploring the mysterious Amerzone region. Befriended by the natives of the region, he witnessed a strange ritual involving a giant egg of the famed white birds. Wanting to prove that the white birds existed, Alexandre betrayed the natives' trust and stole the mysterious egg. Alas, upon his returning to France, nobody believed Alexandre or his journals about the Amerzone.

Sixty years have passed, and the world has changed. World War II has come and gone, the Amerzone remains unexplored and closed off to outsiders by its despotic leader, Antonio Álvarez. Monsieur Alexandre Valembois is an old man at the end of his life, living alone in a lighthouse and wishing to fix his mistake. This is when, a young reporter pays a visit to the old Alexandre Valembois regarding his adventures...

Can you unravel the mystery of the white birds?

Just finished this one.

It's an old port from PS1. Graphic is actually pretty good for a game that old.
The music and sound effect is pretty engaging.

The story is about a reporter went into an old explorer's home and accepted his dying wish to deliver/hatch a super bird egg from Amerzone....

It's actually got quite a bit of twist and turns in story.. (your multi-purpose ride ran out of fuel several times.)
You actually see death/desturction and a lot different exotic animals.

The bottom line however this is a simple Find and solve puzzle advanture which answers are always very linear. The puzzles are really easy but to find some of the items is a little bit hard. It's difficulty and enjoyment is only 1/3 of the original MYST.

Recommend to Buy? well no.. its really outdated. Even though there are no game breaking glich.. it's just not on par with most puzzle games like J.U.L.I.A and MYST. If you can get it real cheap and you want play one of the game that invented adventure puzzle game with least violece. You can give this one a try.

This one is really old and it doesn't offer trading card and achievements.

Benoit Sokal's first game that showcases his vision of ficitional lands with history and creativity combined. The gameplay is similar to Sherlock Holmes The Mystery of the Mummy, in which the scenery is like looking at a 360 degree matte painting while being filmed with a fish eye lens camera. However unlike that game, this game has easier puzzles and you interact with more people that drive the story allong. The graphics show their age, but since this is Sokal's first work, I'll excuse it for looking stiff. Controls are sometimes flawed but the game is still playable and will be favored by fans of European games.

I absolutely adore this game. As a teenager, I spent hours upon hours playing this game (I still have the cd-rom and packaging!) But I thought I would buy it on Steam instead of installing it through 4 different discs. Unfortunately, I cannot get it to play through Steam on my computer. :( The chat boards are not much help so I am going to try the support email. Hopefully, I will get to play my beloved game soon. If you can get this game to play on your computer, I definitely recommend it. It is a beautiful (but short) game. The only truly annoying part of the game was making my way through the swamp..... ugh. lol

If you liked the Syberia games and still enjoy old-style adventures, it's certainly worth the low price to go back and play this one. I finished it back in the day and this version seems to run fine now.

I remember 14 years ago, sitting in my friends house playing this game on his PS1. I bought this just out of Nostalgia, it's like a trip down memory lane!
